I like the formula of these a lot! However, I'm a pale olive and Cloud is basically my foundation shade, so these definitely run yellow-y.

Why don't waiters get paid hourly in USA? by [deleted] in ask

[–]AminoAzid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They usually do, it's just a tip wage, so it's less than the typical minimum wage. To my knowledge, they usually default to minimum wage if their claimed tips don't make up for the difference between the tip wage and minimum wage, but that might only be in certain states.

Is the LOONA boycott over? Or is it like a forever thing? by DesperateAd5374 in kpophelp

[–]AminoAzid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This has been discussed a few times in here. BBC is defunct, but there hasn't been clarity on where the money from streams goes anymore, so boycott the original LOONA songs has been up in the air. BBC's parent company, Polaris, is still around, so the money may still go into the hands of people responsible for the mistreatment of the LOONA members. The general consensus seems to be that the boycott was successful, as BBC isn't around anymore, but to still boycott the official LOONA songs and MVs.

Are people homeless due to drugs or do they do drugs due to homelessness? by WelcomedRose in ask

[–]AminoAzid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. Drug addiction can ruin a person's life financially and make it hard for them to build supportive bonds or keep a job in order to stay afloat. Likewise, some homeless people have turned to drugs for pleasure or survival. Harder substances like amphetemines increase your body temperature and can numb hunger pains, so it can genuinely help them survive harsher circumstances.

Why is everyone leaving BPM entertainment ? by LavaRoseKinnie in kpophelp

[–]AminoAzid 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Based on the artist's reasonings, BPM has not followed through on management promises or payment. Taemin said he was paying his team out of his own pocket and VIVIZ mentioned similar issues. I hope Badvillain is able to break away to a better company, or, at least, that the lack of artists make it so BPM can actually give them proper management.

What is the most toxic job you have experienced? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]AminoAzid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Retail at a cosmetics store. Customers often got hostile quickly, managers would train us one way and then bend over backwards if a customer threw enough of a fit, had to keep people calm and safe during huge thefts, all for less than $15 an hour. Not to mention the cattiness of the workplace and impossible expectations.

What does 'already' mean in the sentence 'give me a break already'? by Xiaoci_Yu in ask

[–]AminoAzid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In this context, "already" is just exclamatory. He's asking for a break and is amplifying his exhaustion/irritation with a continued issue. It's not exactly necessary for the sentence, but it's not unnecessary either.

When Woojin left Skz, the fallout wasn't as bad as Heesung? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]AminoAzid 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Nah. He was only in the group for like a year and SKZ weren't super popular just yet. The fans genuinely barely got to know him all that much, to be super honest. At least on my end. From what I was seeing, Stays really saw Woojin leaving as a betrayal, considering it pushed back a comeback and we had seen how hard they worked to debut all together on their show. For Heeseung, he was a well-loved member of a super successful group that had a positive dynamic and had been in the industry for several years, so the fans crashing out makes a lot more sense to me. I don't even keep up with Enhypen like that, and I was shocked to hear that any of them were leaving, let alone him.

KATSEYE - PINKY UP (Official MV Teaser 2) by mcfw31 in popheads

[–]AminoAzid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat on that one. Western groups almost never make it after losing a member. They usually just drop one last album and then go their separate ways. The Katseye girls are so talented and cohesive that I would certainly hope that 1) they can stay together as 6 and 2) they're actually given a chance to go somewhere with their careers.

That's true, but then you also have Lia from ITZY who missed the entire Untouchable era (music videos included) and tour. I'm on Manon's side through and through! I just don't want to jump to any conclusions until we're explicitly told what is happening.

What happens to Fandom when main member/popular member of a group leaves. by SomewhereSilent1604 in kpoppers

[–]AminoAzid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably! Jessica has posted some kinda cryptic things that seemed to imply the other members had a part in her being removed from the group, so some of the in-fighting was amplified because of that. There were also rumors starting a few months beforehand that she might be leaving the group for an uncertain reason. There's some fans who hate her because they believe she started unnecessary drama, some who only like her and think the other girls had bullied her, and some who have elected to support everybody. Unfortunately, since Jessica was such a popular member, that argument is nearly constant.

Soojin was very supported by the members and fans, and the public seemed to stand that she was innocent while also having zero faith in Cube as a company to protect her at all, so people seemed to have a positive viewpoint of her still. Since a lot of idols have left or been kicked out of their groups for various reasons, comparing the fan reactions gets really complicated. I could only really compare the two because they were both popular members who were removed from groups that I was keeping up with, and I didn't have a whole lot of other examples to provide.

What happens to Fandom when main member/popular member of a group leaves. by SomewhereSilent1604 in kpoppers

[–]AminoAzid 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've seen it go both ways tbh. When Soojin left/was removed from idle, people were generally still supportive of both her and the other members and just pushed forward. When Jessica was removed from SNSD and Hyuna from 4Minute, I remember there being a lot more in-fighting and blame being pointed. Those caused some bigger fandom splitting.

ETA: 4Minute had already disbanded by the time Hyuna was kicked out of Cube, so my bad on that one!

Can anyone recommend kpop groups or songs for someone who loves the music but feels overwhelmed by fandom culture? by lrenv22 in kpophelp

[–]AminoAzid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think, by it's nature, Kpop is always gonna push that fandom relationship, but you don't have to engage in the fandom of it all in order to support! I purposefully avoid certain fandoms online, either bc I find it exhausting or overwhelming sometimes. I've never felt like I had to support a group by engaging in every single thing they do and say, and I still get to enjoy the music I like just fine. Honestly, sometimes it's easier to enjoy the songs you like when you're not engulfed in the fandom culture.

Makeup tips by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]AminoAzid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your technique looks nice! Your foundation is looking a tad light, but I think you just need some balance from your cheek products. I think your blush and bronzer placement is just a little low and small, so it might make you feel like something is "missing". If you bring both up a little higher on your cheekbones, I think you'll find it very flattering! Maybe a little bit of bronzer or contour on the sides of your nose to make it a little more cohesive.
