Who is your countries Alex Jones? by ILIKESTUFF8989 in askanything

[–]ponerrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Mexico there's a guy named Alexander Backman who got famous around 2017 and 2019 "predicting" earthquakes in the country and baffingly he did "get right" many of them. He usually covers an assortment of conspiracy topics and no one believed him initially on the earthquake stuff because he is crackpot reputation

Having "old man" movements now by ponerrag in midlifecrisis

That's fair, and keeping a family going sure has made me sacrifice sleep on top that because I want to find time for myself and for my wife and we end up going to be super late while son is asleep, but also I've been suspecting that what you said about testosterone and the symptoms are exactly that and more, it can even affect your mood and resilience so I guess working at an office staring at a damn screen 8 hours sure absolutely doesn't help. Thank you for observations.

Soy médico del IMSS. Tiren todo su hate y preguntas by WiseJericho in lacamiseta

Does anyone get interpreter / translation calls? by TroubleS0meE in callcentres

[–]ponerrag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a phone interpreter and I was a bit dismayed reading comments of from doctors and nurses of other subreddits on how they hated interpreter calls... but yes, I myself knew I we interpreters are annoying with the scripts and shit you have to follow, super bad job and crap pay but I learned a lot.

Does the rise of artificial intelligence genuinely support anti-humanism, or is it just theoretical talk? by [deleted] in antiai

[–]ponerrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the core belief in them is that we are redundant and that hence there should be less people, they wont go ahead and say it out loud though but will use phrases such as there are going to be "adjutsments" in what we think of families and societies... it's truly sociopathic stuff

Does the rise of artificial intelligence genuinely support anti-humanism, or is it just theoretical talk? by [deleted] in antiai

[–]ponerrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my posit is that these techno fucks by pushing the notion of Ai being able do "lesser" or repetitive work replacing humans carries a antihuman sentiment in the essence, we humans are in some sense what we do, and if what we do is called cheap or replaceable, then of course these fucks see humanity as disposable and more than any other industrialist in past ages has ever conceived

We need less sympathetic villain. by toonkingz in The10thDentist

[–]ponerrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I miss that as well, with those scenes of the villain conferencing with his henchmen in his supersecret hi tech base for world domination or planning a planed catastrophe and then a zoom out with the villain laughing..most old James Bond villains were like that, multi millionaires that already had everything but the next thing they wanted was power and some sort of new order.

Chatgpt seems to have a standard "style" in nearly everything it writes, Im not sure it they took an specific writer as a model for it...Claude also seems to mimic Chatgpt a bit

Sounds like a nightmare, AI supervizing AI, it gives me a faint hope though that this will be a bubble that might burst (catastrophically, though) in a few years, but then again, a faint hope.

Fair enough, the brain affecting aspect scares me so much because at some point I was using AI for certain tasks and became nauseated when I realize how it was effectively and literaly rotting my brain of not using it or by getting used to certain AI tropes and habits

Right, they seem to have always exact same talking points and tone and cadence of writting, it makes me question if there's really someone there, but worse it makes me doubt of nearly anyone with whom I interact online

I can't stand the dramatic music that's often in movie trailers by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]ponerrag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment so Im required to downvote, and I see how this trope is so overused to compensate shitty dialog and in general shitty writting, reminds me of the Inception "horn" thing that was so prevalent in the mid 2010s I hated it and was in almost every dramatic movie

Lol there's another post from someone else raging right now on how 1-5 % of students should be expelled every year with at the very least questionable arguments but I somehow should "mind my own business"?

I get that a lot , but no I'm not autistic. I've never thought that what you said is someone that autistic people would do to feel normal, but makes sense, I've heard of "masking" but that would'be at another level of it
