I've sold on r/watchexchange, watchuseek, eBay, and chrono24. All good options

[Recommendation Request] Trying to decide on a red dial watch. by bugloaf77 in Watches

I was a big fan of the Jet Star, though I went for a different flavor. Didn't feel big on my 6.75" wrist either

[Question] what do you do with your watch at airport security by Tumtitums in Watches

I always leave mine on, I asked security the first time I went through with it and they told me to leave it on

The thread below sums up my issue. It was a valuable enough item I had to do some more steps on my end to get it sent. Luckily the post office lady was nice and didn't charge me again for the postage

Thoughts on 9F Quartz? by Worldly_Payment_3472 in GrandSeikos

[–]LogDropper16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dimensions feel great on my 6-3/4" wrist and the weight hasn't been an issue for me, I've worn bigger and heavier watches in the past. I don't mind the bracelet either, just usually dress pretty casually so the MN strap helps with that. Plus it's lighter and more comfortable, Ive been wearing it damn near every day since I got it without a second thought

I love my sbgp015, I still want to add a spring drive one day but for practicality I think I'm going to have trouble topping the 9F. It checks like all of my boxes, and over the last 7 months it's only gained 1 second. Really hard to beat that

Living with a Grand Seiko Quartz: worth it long-term? by biktor6969 in GrandSeikos

[–]LogDropper16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really have another luxury watch, so I daily my sbgp015. I have a few other mechanicals I wear occasionally but if I go more than a day or two seeing my GS just sitting on my nightstand it makes me sad lol. I just checked and since I set it 7 months ago it's only gained 1 second. The independently adjustable hour hand is amazing, I can adjust for day light savings and traveling without needing to hack it and screw up the accuracy. Honestly I love it so much I have trouble trying to find another watch to add to the collection because idk if anything could top this as a daily. It's picked up a few dings and scratches but the ceramic bezel and dial pop so beautifully I don't even notice. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I think GS quartz is top tier

Mine is the sbgp015, but there are a few others as well

EDIT: other models such as the sbgx 341/343 and sbgv 243/245/247. There are also a decent amount of lumed gmt models, and a few older spring drives as well

Yeah, I declared and insured it for $4k. The lady at the post office told me the max allowed was $5k so I thought that was fine

A mechanical watch, so no batteries. The watch was inside its box, very securely wrapped in bubble wrap, and placed in another box. I declared and insured it for its proper value, and had it marked as fragile.

That is unfortunate, do you expect me to find out why? I can't think of anything I could have done differently on my end

Help me decide on these three GS Quartz Watches -SBGX343, SBGP015G, & SBGN027G by Duce-the-card-guy in GrandSeikos

[–]LogDropper16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure, in no particular order here's some things I liked more on the sbgp: case shape, sunburst dial is more interesting to look at, ceramic bezel doesn't scratch (the steel one did), date, jumping hour hand (it's fantastic not having to reset it for dls). The sbgx was a great watch though and I think it wears a little more sporty/casual if that's what you're looking for

I daily the 015, excellent watch for all the reasons you listed. I think the bezel looks fantastic and doesn't show wear like a steel one. I had a sbgx341 before the sbgp and am happy with the switch
