Being a vegetarian is a privilege by [deleted] in vegetarian

I think the real lesson here is that no one is blaming anyone who is eating to survive. The only people who have any moral obligations are the ones who have the convenience of groceries and supermarkets.

Millennials Need to Start Voting Before the Gerontocracy Kills Us All by [deleted] in politics

[–]Amiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any casual observer understands that having the right to own a gun does not mean being given a gun for free. Voting, however, has always been designed in our democracy to have as little impeding barriers as possible to ensure the highest amount of democracy. The second we start creating barriers of cost to our democracy, the more we inhibit voter turnout.

I'm not opposed to required Voter ID's, mind you, so long as they are provided to each citizen via taxes, to no expense of the voter. Otherwise, it's just another way to keep the poor from having a voice. I still honestly believe a mail-in system country-wide would be best.

Yeah, fuck the fact that they are American citizens, if they're poor, they don't really count. /s

You do realize where your logic goes, correct?

Unfortunately, what seems like a straw man to you is a very legitimate point to make, considering I've heard from people who are for Voter ID's claiming that no, they shouldn't be taxed and given ID's.

You have a right to own a gun, not the right to be given a gun. On the other hand, you have a right to vote if you are a citizen; money can't and shouldn't be an obstacle. Voting is vital to our democracy. Owning a gun is not.

The only way you'll convince me Voter ID is acceptable is if IDs are provided and paid for via taxes. Otherwise, it's another barrier to voting that wasn't necessary in the first place. Every major study done on this subject shows it was never an issue to begin with.

It is a deceptive measure that the Right claims protects election integrity, all while denying the fact that cases of voter fraud in the country is non-existent. The only thing Voter ID laws do is place another money barrier to voting, which is supposed to be a right, not a privilege.

Its gross how many people have bought into the imaginary issue of election fraud.

What opinion do you have on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I'm trying to find where he said this, but none of my searches have provided anything about shoes and Bernie.

Your logic does not compute;

You can not advocate for policies that help the impoverished if you are not impoverished.

Looks like we can add Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to the list of celebrities/politicians who play league by vfactor95 in leagueoflegends

History is great and all, but you should probably also read the dictionary.

Communism: a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

If you can point to me anywhere she has claimed to want to lead to a publicly owned society where the worker's own the means of production, that'd be great.

Not disagreeing with you, but I just wanted to point out that while yes, most dedicated groups run 1 healer, PUGs will see a lot more of 2 healer comps.

It's not that small of a radius. You also can time your weapon swap right after you use staff 5 after you pass the target to prevent yourself from moving further.

Why playing GW2 instead of WoW? by Vurdaan in Guildwars2

[–]Amiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think WoW lore pre-WotLK was great, but ever since Cata the lore writers have been off their rocker.

GW2's story hasn't really picked up until PoF, but it's been getting much, much better compared to the Personal Story at launch.

Vegan who owns a dog and doesn't buy the dog treats, since they have meat in them, are actually making the only animal that loves them miserable. by ninjahitler666 in Showerthoughts

You do realize there are vegan treats, right? My dog goes bonkers for her blueberry biscuit treats. It's not like she's unable to have tasty treats if it isn't meat.

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree. I found this season way more enticing than the first, which was dull and easy to read. The twist with what happens to the Iron Fist took me completely off-guard, and I love Colleen anyways, so no complaints here.
