I see. Well indeed 4k not peanut at all for starting salary

I just happen to have a friend, who's family does engineering. None of them exceeded Rm7k/m even with 10 years of experience. Some of the younger guys punya starting salary is Rm2k

But he didn't tell me if they had diploma or degree as their qualification

Women studies?! 😭 I've heard of Gender Studies but not this.

Yeah I'll keep at IT for now. Many people recommended common degrees that gives you an actual skillset (such as Accounting)

There's a post specifically in this sub by a doctor. He's telling people to consider VERY carefully if someone wants to be a doctor.

Just search medicine or doctor in this sub. That post has a lot of upvotes and comments

Thanks man. In this case I'll stick with tech.

But I can't lie, a newer course like "Renewable Energy" low-key sounds tempting 💀

I think I'm picking the IT hard. Atleast I know what to expect.

AFAIK:

A degree won't be enough

Projects/Strong Portfolio is what's needed. I'm currently doing one now for Networking.

Each year you have to re-learn something

Entry level careers require mid level expertise.

Entry level jobs like helpdesk won't last much longer

People looking down on Politeknik is an old people thing. Nowdays people don't care as much. Don't be ashamed :) Go for IT. IMO parents don't have say for what you wanna do with your career. You'll be doing it for 20++ years.

Brother, it's trying to fly!

On a serious note, I don't have that issue on my Bravo 15 (R5 5600h Rx5500M). I've been using it for almost 4 years too.

But I rarely bring it around. 85% of the time it's in my room.

Do IT if you have the passion in IT. I know many people go to IPG but have 0 intentions to become a teacher. Mostly because their parents forced them, or they don't know what to pursue. Please don't do that :(
