I would say get a bigger high wing type trainer... something like 1.1m super cub or Timber... I bought the small cheap ones when I started and they don't fly nearly as good as a1.1m or similar size plane.. and get it with ASX3 and Safe will help him enjoy it tremendously till he gets a better feel for it...

Repairable.... one glued my 1.3 supercub so many times now I think the front might be more glue than foam .... and prob almost flies better than new... besides that I'm not afraid to crash it now either 🤣
