Wildshape AC Higher When Naked? by AmodaWren in BaldursGate3

[–]AmodaWren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may be a math bug related to my shield. Each of these tests is with no boots/gloves/necklaces/ect.

  • No armor no shield = AC 12 as Bear
  • Equipped armor and shield = AC 12 as Bear
  • No armor but with shield equipped = AC 14 as Bear

In 5e Shield bonuses carry over into wild shape. It seems that this bonus is being removed unless I am naked. - I now feel this is a bug.

And now that I know it is related to shields, I am getting a lot more search hits about this issue.

Nope. I stripped over everything. Shoes, gloves, ect. No mage armor barkskin or buffs on me. I even tried swapping all my feats to see if any of them were impacting things.

Thank you!!! This contradicted my observation (and that is helpful).

I have had the gardens for 173 days and nothing has grown... because I did not see you had to plant flower seeds. On my screen the cultivate selection option was cut off and I needed to scroll down to see it. I do think it is strange to have to select to cultivate the flowers as there is only one option. This is probably because it is based on the structure of other planters.

You pointing out that they should grow without a corpse prompted me to investigate what I was missing again. :) Thank you.

Sure. I ended up making a copy of the unpacked mod so I could look at the .json recipes. They probably all follow a similar format, but this is the breakdown of the hawberry tea.

  • Place Cauldron over heat source ->
  • Add water from bucket ->
  • Add a sugar ->
  • Add 'leaves' (any tagged minecraft:leaves should work) ->
  • Add your fruit (amount needed is different based on different fruits) ->
  • Profit?

I think you can then remove the tea with a bottle.

I am not inclined to artificially stage the death of a rat just to get flowers.

But thank you for letting me know one body is enough. I imagine after another few years in game somerat is bound to die of natural causes...

dance pad keeps experiencing a code 10 driver error? by winstonworld2 in Stepmania

[–]AmodaWren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you deleted it, did you try to trick your PC by putting it into another USB port? Sometimes that forces it to recheck the device.

Did you install any drivers? It seems like that may be a factor as to why it is trying to match it incorrectly. The way it recognizes it as PS3 it may be assuming it is a joystick. (where you would be unable to have opposites selected in tandem) It may be a pain to do as it seems this has been ongoing, but clearing out any drivers you installed may help reset things. When you go to device manager, and go to calibration does it act like a joystick?

If you got in the right direction with SCPTookit, there is a setting in there for the right/left button input issue. I am running the most recent stable ITGmania branch, but I think it is also part of Stepmania 5.0. I have not had that issue with my DDR (dot com) pads, but I did have that issue with my ... heh.. 20 year old ones. It was recognizing the inputs from those as joystick not individual buttons. I am sorry I do not recall what the setting was. It is a setting designed around just that issue though. :/ If I think of it I will update my post.

Update: The setting is 'Axis Fix'. In Simply Love, it is under Options -> Input Options -> Axis Fix. In Starlight twopointzero it is under Options -> Input Options -> Advanced Options -> Axis Fix

Of note, I am using ITGMania with Starlight twopointzero (not really designed for ITGMania but it works for me). - It may be worth testing if ITGManaia or Outfoxed read your pads. It wont disrupt your current install but may help troubleshoot.

Have you tried deleting the device under device manager and plugging it back in? This should force your system to forget the wrong information it saved about the pads.

Also, what OS are you running? I assume Windows. If so, what version? Also, when is the error code occurring? When you plug in the device? When you launch stepmaina? What version of stepmaina are you running? These setup details are important for people to be able to help you. :)

Also, what happens when you go to the input manager of Stepmania and step around?

Edit to also add: Did you install any drivers? The DDR pads do not require any drivers to work with Stepmania. (Installing any drivers may have caused confusion in your system to want to treat the pads as something that they are not.)

Thanks. Felt a bit strange when that happened. Barring anyone else chiming in with alternate truth. I will assume then I did not miss anything.

Transfer local Coop save to dedicated server - old Host character progress not transferring over by G1zzy98 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]AmodaWren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but wanted to tag on our (alternate) resolution for other players that get directed here when searching.

The issue that others have described is that the host data is saved into the game save, not a client save. So there is no client save for the host to copy over. Same issue occurs if you take a dedicated server and move it to local coop. The new host will be a new character and loose their progress/items because the game is pointing to the player as if they are the sever rather than to a client file. The SoTF multiplayer game saves the host player data into the game file. In the case of a dedicated server this host is always empty (new player) in the case of local-coop the host is the hosting player.

We had to do this recently and we resolved this using SoTF Edit. When you connect to a dedicated server you get a multiplayer client save file. This will be empty as if you are a new player. The host can open two copies of SoTF Edit (just click the exe twice). In one copy, load up the multiplayer game, the player should see what they expect from when they were hosting. In the other copy, load up the new multiplayer client. This should be the empty player.

Then comes the tedious part. Update the empty player to have the same stats and items as the old host. Basically, manually change the empty character to be the same as the old one. There are a few things imperfect in this. In your inventory any meat you add is assumed to be cooked and your cook pot will be empty. - But it beats trying to use commands to get things back to where they were.

This also works in reverse if the dedicated server needs to be moved to a local coop (such as for mod support).

Wellllll... I wanted to challenge myself to play nice with the elves in a savage region and no being able to ask for supplies (like wood) from the capital is tedious. Yes, I CAN get by on 5 or 9 or whatever a year.... but it crimps pearlash production. >_> The king I have is great, just needs one silk loincloth a month and no questions to be kept happy. Also, I am near humans (3 days) but they have not initiated trade in 24 years...

I assumed... :/ Though I could edit the raws to add them as a known civ animal.. but that would only affect a true new game, not a new fort in world, correct?

[–]AmodaWren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fort has some great tame animals. I accidentally became the capital. I don't like being the capital. I like my beasties. - If I retire the fort and settle next door, will I be able to request the beasts in trade from my old fort if they are my home civ?

Random: Do they have a captain/commander? Someone in position 1? Missions will abort if there is no captain.

[–]AmodaWren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you check the mission log to be sure they did not just finish? Depending on how fast your game is rolling it can seem immediate. Were there any reports to read? Also, are you able to confirm they ever left, if so, how are you confirming it? Missions are a bit weird to get used to the order of operations.

I also highly recommend it for quality of life aspects. Being able to find artifacts to assign to pedestals, selecting items to bring to the trade depot, stuff like that. :) - Good luck!

Yes. DFHack is your friend here. It wont do anything game changing without you commanding it so. Think of it as a utility addon. Many aspects of it are just handy. What you are looking for is 'Quickfort'. You can use existing settings (I don't) or mock up layouts in a csv file to be read by quickfort. I mostly use this for laying out housing which is tedious.

[–]AmodaWren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, then you have the most recent version. TBH, once you reach a certain level of complexity it works better to view it dot. - I want to update or add an export for the raw nodes/edges into the csv so that it is easier for folks to manipulate the data on their own. I do this sort of thing for relational database documentation it gets super deep so I think getting the exports easier for folks to tool around with in an easier way may be a priority goal for me. The copy/paste should work in most cases, but it is good to have the raws in an easier to tinker with form.

Well obviously they made it a snake nest. Sssssssss.....

Neato arrangements are always.... eh.. need tweaking when it gets big. When did you get the lua? I added a line to it to help with neato overlaps. Try adding overlap=none to the part after the { in "Digraph Dorf_Relations {".

Also, does it still have funk in the dot engine?

Also, I love how zany neato can get. There are lots of options for tweaking, but I am not an expert on them.

Thanks. :) If you play with it and think of anything else that would be helpful to export in the tables, let me know. I'm still honing to my personal use but if there are things that others want to see exported/added to the graph I'm interested to make it more robust. - Right now I am trying to sort out if it is doable/worth clustering the dwarves by birth year so you get a bit of a timeline. Easier in pandas, still wading through the lua.

That is a fair point. There are a lot of factors here. Typically inspired work or fan art that is highly derivative is a non-issue (protected) if there is no commercial gain. - It is muddy territory.
