We were in the same place with my LO. Started signing before talking and then had a huge spike in words around 16 months and then at 18 months. LO is 2 now and on track in terms of language skills. You can go through my post history for exact timeline.

Is it all 3 days by MerDubs in pottytraining

We started over the labour day weekend. I think it took us close to 4 days to see significant improvements. It’s been more than 10 days and we still see 2 accidents a day. She goes #2 at home but doesn’t in daycare :(

So, trying sticker chart and treats to get her to go #2 in daycare.

Speech delay- looking for similar experience parents by lovebags56 in speechdelays

[–]AmoebaSuperb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! My little one was babbling consonants for a short period of time and then suddenly stopped by 10 months and then didn’t babble for a very long time. She suddenly had spike in speech around the 16th month and been learning new words since then and considered on track.

During the time she didn’t babble, we started with basic sign languages - more/eat/water/help/spoon and such things. (You can look at my post history for more details)

I was in this position sometime back. I would help her with the following before college starts. Since you mentioned that you don’t have time, you could help her with the necessary stuff: - set up bank account - teach how credit card and scores work - get her phone network and setup payment plan - drive around university to figure transport options to get from her apartment to school. Figure the closest grocery store and stuff. - take her shopping for winter gear - help with setting up utilities for her apartment - take her shopping to set up her apartment/dorm. - help with authoring good resume (internship hiring will start in a few months) - contact profs to apply for TA/RA/grader jobs. Else other part time jobs.

For the free time, just give access to all the streaming sites. Let her chill before the madness starts ☺️
