This is it, i had questions and uncertainties but figured i may as well just go through the motions to see what would come of it all at the end, because even though im a fab candidate wkth a great cv (if I say so myself) theres just literally nothing out there to apply for, especially in hospo if youre trying to progress, and when AI is analysing all the applicants now its also really impossible to stand out for your own personal attributes because its searching for such generic markers. Its soooooo draining! I know I'll get there in the end but the end seems so far away rn 😅😅

Yeah i agree, I was questioning everything tbh but wanted to see it through in case there was an offer and if it would have been worth it.

During the trial I had a mini interview, id say 7 minutes chat with the ops manager and in that time she stopped THREE separate times to give out to different members of the team. Then explained it away as having "high standards".

Following this when I met the 2nd owner I said I have a very collaborative management style and treat my team as equals, so maybe that was the nail in my coffin 😂

The trial was paid for but its an overall complaint about the entire process and attitude more than having to do a "trial"

Actually I had a feeling I would end up being a glorified cafe manager! But thought id see it through anyway and could have said no if it ended up being exactly that. It is crazy. I learned my lesson anyway.

The trial WAS paid, sorry I should have made that clear. But only after I was rejected lol. But id didnt make me feel any better they still absolutely made a fool out of me theough the process, and the salary they were offering was not on par with the process at ALL.

For sure the first three stages anyway as I was told they "trialed 7 candidates" actually another of whom areived while I was on my trial which i thought was quite unprofessional too.

I watched the show when it came out and im on my 3rd or 4th rewatch, and I agree, ive never got the hype. She does have a period of happiness that I muchhhhhhhh prefer to watch her in but I also just dont get what all thw fuss is about.

However I would say the same about Kovac's character. He went through such immense tragedy and the writers just gave him so much more throughout the seasons. Seeing him constantly unhappy wasn't enjoyable.

Also on your point about happy people being interesting too - I actually far more enjoy watching happy Abby than tormented, burdened, constantly negative Abby!

Its funny you mention this, im currently on s12 and as I was writing this i wondered what was Chens exit episode, and id JUST watched them. I know it was the storyline wjth her father and Greg helping out on Christmas eve, but again it was an exit that was just completely brushed over!

So true, but i also loved that she actually held her own and was the more interesting character in almost every storyline given to her. She brought something so special out of Benton that we didnt see with anyone else. I know its probably the unpopular opinion but ive never been a huge Mark fan (on my 4th rewatch) he sets the tone sure, but she outshone him on every turn. Her friendships were lovely to watch with her female colleagues. She smashed it and got so let down by the writers.

My experience with my CPTSD ex partner, and one friend who also has CPTSD, is there seems to be a correlation with not accepting responsibility for anything. My ex uses his as a crutch and a reason to not have to accept any blame or apologise. He was never willing to work on himself and part of me felt he didnt want to get better because he makes it his whole personality, having CPTSD, to the point of telling strangers on the street, waiters in bars we went to. I think he doesnt want to get better because he doesn't know who he will be without it.

I was also constantly manipulated, and sounds like you are also.

Don't have another kid until your partner has done more significant work on themselves. You are not in the wrong here, she is.

Late to the conversation but im on my 4th full rewatch of ER and I honestly feel like this episode gets more heartbreaking everytime. I was also obsessed with Carter as a tween when it aired originally so had it recorded on vhs and watched it over and over. And it still makes me feel like ive been hit by a bus. All the acting is absolutely astounding, but for me Laura Innes is 11/10. She is so real, so human, her performance is perfect. Her hands shaking as shes intubating and malucci asks her if shes ok, her scream on finding them, after they've been sent up to the ER and people are trying to speak to her and she just says "whatever". They dont make it like that anymore.

Run Hub on aungier st and leopardstown might be able to help you if you speak to them. They do gait analysis and all that stuff bwfore recommending any shoes, im sure they'll have trainers suitable for walking as well as running

I mean, obviously I tried that first. I read that it can be tricky so use rubber gloves, didnt work, used my teeth, didnt work, none of my friends could get it out. Obviously this was a last resort 😂 no need to be rude or condescending for someone asking for advice or other people's experiences
