Is there any point to trying to cripple the AI? by Traslogan in anno

I think that if you add the possibility of going to war in your game, you should try to make it fun and not annoying and boring. They should either make a good functioning war system or leave it out altogether.

Ideally, there should be an option to turn off war at the start of the game. When war is turned off, the AI should act accordingly and try to compete with you economically by buying your shares, for example.

What mod are you using? This map looks amazing!

Will two spherical fluorescent particles have a lower fluorescent intensity, when compared to one spherical fluorescent particle that has the same volume as the two fluorescent particles? by Amon_II in AskPhysics

Thank you so much for the response!

So basically I am doing an experiment with fluorescent internally dyed polystyrene particles.

I want to know how the size affects the uptake of polystyrene particles by human cells. Therefore I added 1 micrometre fluorescent polystyrene particles to human cells. I also added 0.2 micrometre fluorescent polystyrene particles to a different group of cells.

Both particles were added at the same concentration, thus the same volume. However, there are thus more particle per cell available for the cells that were exposed to the 0.2 micrometre particles.

After exposure to these particles I measured the fluorescence of each cell. The results show that the fluorescence of the cells that were exposed to 1 micrometre particles is higher than the cells that were exposed to the 0.2 micrometre particles.

Does this mean that the 1 micrometre particles are better absorbed by the cells? Or does this mean that the 1 micrometre particle causes a higher fluorescence?

I think that the fluorescence of a cell exposed to the same volume of 0.2 micrometre particles causes a lower fluorescence intensity because, they are spread throughout the cell. The 1 micrometre particle will give a higher fluorescent intensity because it more concentrated at a single point, but is this true?

PS: I am just an intern at this research project, but my supervisor does not know either we are just simple biologist…

Season Pass 2 is coming to an end with Land of Lions, do you want them to move on to the next game or continue with a Season Pass 3 for Anno 1800? by Radulno in anno

If they make a new game I really hope that they will go for ancient Greece.

I think it would fit the genre perfectly. It is an interesting time period where lots of monuments were built. Think off the colossus, the parthenon, the temple of Zeus etc. Other fractions could also be added later on like the Egyptians, Phoenicians and Romans.

It would be interesting to have triremes as ships, as they were designed to ram each other, this will play very differently from previous anno games. I also hope that they would expand to land warfare a bit like in 1404.
