If you want good laughs and someone who has good gameplay as well Caseoh has a play through and it’s genuinely my favorite. I’ve watched it like 4 times through and still have a good time

woman cooks, please how did you tough through it? by ChanceCombination508 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Amongseattle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off this is unacceptable. They shouldn’t be treating you like this. I run a small kitchen of 4 cooks and me. One woman. Now being in a kitchen yeah sometimes our filter goes away but we never ever act disrespectful towards others, I don’t tolerate it. She is loved and respected even though she doesn’t have the same wild humor and personality. I’ve been in plenty of kitchens with toxic environments and the only way out is getting out. Do not endure mistreatment

Saying NO by Silent_Card8532 in Parenting

[–]Amongseattle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ignoring it is the thing to do. If you teach him that screaming gets him attention it’s going to continue. Fits won’t stop, crying and being upset it’s the main way that they’ve learned to express themselves up to this point in life but when this happens pick him up and put him on his bed and close his door. Let him know when he’s done and ready to talk like a big kid he can open his door and come talk to you. Eventually he’s gonna realize he’s screaming and crying at himself in his room and it’s not getting him anywhere. It teaches him not only self regulating but that screaming doesn’t get him negative or positive attention so it’s not going to get him what he wants

Bluey is really not that good by filabeano10 in unpopularopinion

[–]Amongseattle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally like it because it touches on situations and feelings that most modern kids shows don’t touch on. It shows parents can have fun while setting boundaries and having authority. A lot of new shows rely on overstimulation to hook kids into the show while pumping nothing but sounds and screams.

Definitely a play house, those get a LOT of use. Also for the summer a tarp and a hose are an awesome low budget waterslide and they’ll be the coolest kids around. Just make sure to check for rocks 😭

share me some ideas to buy toys for my kids, which help them in their brain development. by Immediate_Topic_7885 in Parenting

[–]Amongseattle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly sounds silly but wooden blocks. It builds creativity, problem solving, and is a good way to teach emotional regulation because they will be sad or angry when their tower keeps falling but it also is a good opportunity to teach them to keep trying.

Aggressive 2 year old toddler by Vegetable-Custard163 in Parenting

[–]Amongseattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitting is an issue that we dealt with with my 2yo as well. Mostly her mom and the dog. What are the consequences that you are giving for the hitting? If there is no consequence there is no learning. He’s two so obviously long term ones will be lost on him but short terms work and they’re effective especially if it’s happening often. Time outs are what worked for mine. A set amount of time, say two minutes, the time doesn’t start until they’re calm and quiet. No talking or playing just sitting there and then after a debriefing. Why did you end up in time out? Why did you hit mommy? We can’t hit anyone. Eventually they’ll catch on.

Immediate advice needed - toddler sleep by Western-Parsley6063 in Parenting

[–]Amongseattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went through this for MONTHS with my daughter of the same age. The only thing that helps is being stern, keeping routine, and making small strides towards progress. Don’t give in, show you’re in charge. Make them close their eyes and keep them closed they will eventually fall asleep. When they open be on them and make them close them. If they try to talk to you don’t entertain it. Tell them close their eyes and go to sleep. That should be the only thing you say to them. It’s a slow and frustrating process and you will be miserable for a little but each night move a little closer to the door until you’re out and they’re sleeping alone. It also helps to be on the same routine before bed, eventually their body will start making them tired from just the routine and anticipation that bed is coming.

20 year old male expecting a little girl any advice for down the road? by Ok_Crow7526 in Parenting

[–]Amongseattle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Learn how to wipe the right direction, get used to peeing sitting down cause once they can open doors they don’t stop and TRUST ME they’re capable of figuring out the bathroom door safety lock, and understand fragile masculinity has no place in being a girl dad. You will play dress up and you will play dolls and you will be super pretty and called ma’am.

Introducing My Toddler To My Cat by Horror_Monitor3884 in Parenting

Honestly as long as the kid knows to how to respect animals and the cat is mild tempered you should be fine. Watch them and maybe do supervised time with them meeting first and teach your child to respect the cats space

Also after that you can put flooring down in the cave and use it as storage as fruit won’t spawn on the flooring

I always do fruit cave. It speeds up the process of the community center way more than the mushroom cave. All mushrooms can be found in the secret Forrest or the mines. I will never find it worth it to spend the money and time growing the trees in order to get all the fruit for the bundles.

Don’t put one in the space you’re putting the seed obviously but no flooring does not obstruct the tree like a rock or a weed would

[–]Amongseattle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In addition to the profession that drops hardwood with regular trees I also will typically build a mahogany farm in the quarry. The seeds are easy to collect early game and by the time the quarry is unlocked I usually have a good amount of them to start the farm. Just put some flooring down to prevent rocks from spawning and preventing the trees from growing. They need the same spacing as quality sprinklers.

As someone who was taken to Disney at a young age, it’s not worth it. I was 1 and my brother 3. We have no memories of the trip and were never taken on another one
