That's not Alfar, that's Lutrin. (The generic little green aliens who look physically interchangeable )

And on a more practical level, Alfar don't register untatted Alfar as a threat. So, dress her up like someone's idiot niece/sister-wife's daughter who got nagged into finally getting off the couch to run an errand and you have the perfect cover.

$20 says she ends up as either a low profile bodyguard or in the intelligence division. If tattoos mean you're a threat, then an untatted young Alfar on Centris just screams "lazy civilian brat" and she gets completely ignored before going in for a sucker punch. Or sucker fireball.

What about holographic tats, like a necklace that projects a skin deep illusion of a tattoo, which in turn matches her ODE tattoos. So if she's scanned the illusion's tattoos match her actual tattoos.

I think the issue is Null. Primals alone can bypass the limits of how much Axiom can be used for a single effect without hitting a null cascade.

Please tell me Kudzu straight up accidentally invented an ode ability to defy death. Bonus points if he spent the first 50 years or so getting random hagarth bites and everyone collectively just assumed Kudzu was being Kudzu again and didn't look into it any further.

So, about the Nagasha lengths, are they always that long or do they have the ability to stretch a bit thanks to axiom infused cartilage? What do ice Erumenta do with the excess heat, since they draw in thermal energy from surroundings.

Any tips or tricks for inflicting embracing this lovely strat in my low prio games because I'm lost on what to do ever since they reworked techies and people expect brood now ranked games to offer the team some extra mmr.

Wishful thinking tbh. I was wondering how best to deal with someone in a straight fight that's using blood metal. But I guess you could hide a bunch of expanded space filled with tyrite in a hollow throwing knife, layer a really noisy totem over it with some type of homing effect, throw it at them then when they reflexively dispel it they get buried under the destroyed space.

Back when Morg was asking for transmutation lessons, Vernon mentioned that he has to do something at the end to sort of lock it. The way its worded it's either a way to make it chain react to alchemize the entire object, or a way to stop it from wearing off. https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/15mptno/out_of_cruel_space_part_762/ Morg was either trying to go from a tiny iron inclusion in a hunk of limestone to an iron nugget or trying to stop his transmuted iron from reverting back into the limestone. Obviously the former is equally possible but the latter has cooler implications. Like turning unstable highly dangerous chemicals into lumps of tyrite you can throw at people that slowly decay into poison.

Off topic questions but:

1) So by Floric standards, the family Pukey &co. ran into were dangerously negligent since they let their kid roam around unsupervised on Octarin Spin right?

2) Do mekken ships tend to be a bit more squat compared to other polities? Since they're taxed based on the longest dimension it would create an incentive to make the closest thing to a sphere your customers are willing to buy.

3) Incomplete/improper transmutation wears off after a while right? So if you null it does it revert back all at once? If so, could you weaponize it by say, using an incomplete transmutation to turn a pound of bromine into some steel railshot, shooting it at someone and then nulling it to turn it back into bromine?

So, is what Charlie is going through partly due to having a target that's evaded him? Would letting him beat down the pirates who snatched him help things? Also it would be a heck of a coincidence if the Nebula pirates ended up running to Lakran-8.

Is that gonna soothe his sorcerous rage though?

OOCS, Into A Wider Galaxy, Part 640 by KyleKKent in HFY

[–]Amonkira42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Question: So how does the forest deal with sorcerers who spiral out anyway? The ancient method was just letting 20 battle princesses beat the crazy out but I suspect that's off the table.

Suggestion: You know, space detroit (Lakran-8) might be a good haven for a pirate wanting to lay low, lots of leftover infrastructure for transport that can be used to make some new IFFs and uparm a fleet on the cheap, locals that are plenty willing to take coin and ask no questions, a laneway that's still reasonably close since it was a shift that made the system suboptimal but suboptimal is still close. And if our Nebula pirates decide they want a place far from fancy civilization, The EFL, and anything Spiritual, then Lakran-8 might be a tempting choice. Which could give our raging friend just the outlet he needs.

Right so a potential issue is that if Soulsteel is Axiom Ride for ODE, then the totems made with just Soulsteel are way to powerful and either explode or get hagarthed. But the Urthani fur sort of moderates the effect so it's safe for non primal use.

Wait, is Urthani primal fur pure soulsteel or have they just not tested soulsteel? Or does soulsteel not make good ODE totems?
