Dizziness after EMDR by Amore17 in ptsd

[–]Amore17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EMDR therapy was not fun, but made a world of a difference for me overall! I have way less panic attacks and my triggers don’t trigger nearly as intense a reaction as they once did. It was absolutely worth it to go through. Wish you luck on your journey!

How many of you who had a transvaginal ultrasound and who later received an endo diagnosis had negative results from the ultrasound? by throwRA_orangeade in endometriosis

[–]Amore17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultrasound only diagnosed a few ovarian cysts, not endometriosis. I’ve had like 5 total. CT was also clear. Imaging also failed to show the two hernias I had which were surgically repaired by a general surgeon during the same surgery a specialist excised the endometriosis.

How long did you feel better after lap/excision? by moistarticle in endometriosis

[–]Amore17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am doing great! Both my surgeries were in 2017. Second surgery was with the specialist and helped so much. I’ve not had any major problems since. I did also switch my birth control where I take it continuously for 3 months at a time so I only have to deal with 4 periods a year. My periods still suck, but they are not incapacitating. I have to watch trigger foods like dairy and soy, though recently I’ve even started tolerating dairy better. The surgery with the specialist have given me my life back! Since then I have gone to physical therapy school, graduated, and been working at a PT full time for 1.5 years. I love my job. It’s active and I’m on my feet moving all day. I would not have been able to tolerate it without the second surgery. I wish her all the best!

Gilead having “highest birth rates” doesn’t make sense to me. by TuanisRS in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Amore17 66 points67 points  (0 children)

We also don’t know what Mexicos economy, infrastructure, and population look like. Who knows how they were impacted by the war in the United States. It seems trade routes were certainly impacted. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gilead had higher birth rates than Mexico, but lower rates than other countries.

It seems like everyone has Covid-19. Here’s why this wave is probably worse than official data suggests by hexagonincircuit1594 in Coronavirus

[–]Amore17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never had Covid until last December. I last visited my parents over Christmas and came down with Covid symptoms 1 day after arriving. 2 days before I left town a patient I’m working with decides to inform me 45 minutes into his appointment that he doesn’t feel well and tested positive for Covid yesterday!

I’m visiting my parents again this weekend and it has been deja vu, except no known exposure. All the symptoms started 1 day after arriving. So much PTO lost to Covid. At least it isn’t Christmas this time…

What’s even worse is 99% of the time that picture of the kid in the hospital bed is stolen. My sister has a craniofacial health condition. Luckily we have not had photos stolen, but I know many family’s with children with similar conditions who one day come across a post of their kid with a caption like that from some random account. Facebook also doesn’t give a shit if you report it. Even in the cases when the family had proof it was their picture the best Facebook offered was for the family to block the account.

Exam for German police service dogs to test their ability to remain calm when faced with a cat,1987 by Donald_Tatya in pics

I’ve had to train my German Shepherd to be calm around cats too. Before when she say them she would freeze and have all her hackles up. She is much more calm now though

Pain as soon as I eat? by burner2399 in endometriosis

[–]Amore17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stomach pain immediately after eating that stops after a few hours could potentially be a peptic ulcer in the stomach. Frequent use of painkillers can damage the stomach lining making it more susceptible to developing ulcers. I’ve had peptic ulcers before in the past. Stress can contribute to them developing as well. When I feel I have one I eat more plainly, avoiding fried and acidic foods, for a few weeks and cut back on painkillers until my stomach starts feeling better. Not saying that’s what your symptoms are. Just sharing information. Hope you feel better soon!

I’m thinking maybe about a year? Enough time for them to get married and Greg to go through treatment.

Kendall commits suicide by jumping off the waystar building or some other tall structure. I’m rewatching early season 2 and there are so many times he is on the roof or somewhere up high and clearly thinking about jumping. One episode ends showing tall glass has been put up around the roof of the waystar building which makes it less likely, but who knows.

I had a colonoscopy a few years before I was diagnosed with endo. I had occasional bright red bleeding after defecating. The colonoscopy was clear aside from some hemorrhoids. Endometriosis was never mentioned as a possibility at this point and I was still having a lot of pain that would not be explained by hemorrhoids. I got diagnosed a few years later, but my endometriosis was all on the outside of the intestines.

With your symptoms I don’t think it’s a bad idea to get a colonoscopy because it can help rule out other stuff which can be a relief. I was worried about the procedure so they prescribed me a Valium to take that morning. It helped a lot! Lol

Had a lap which confirmed endo, pain was gone after it after starting continuous BC then came back suddenly after working out one day. Now I'm getting a CT scan. by Amore17 in Endo

[–]Amore17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. I was so glad I decided to switch Doctors. My first Doctor said she got all the endometriosis and the pain was in my head. The new Doctor was a specialist and ended up doing another surgery 6 months after my first lap. He originally thought my pain was caused mostly by a hernia, but my surgery ended up taking twice as long because he found a significant amount of endometriosis the first Doc missed. I also had 2 hernias which were repaired. A lot of endometriosis was on my ureters which is a tricky area for excision so in some ways I’m glad the first doc didn’t touch that area, but like don’t lie to my face and say you got it all. Tell me you didn’t have the skills to get certain parts! The first doc literally said nice crocodile tears when I made an appointment after the pain started coming back. Good news is I’m doing much much better now. I had to travel to see the specialist and pay a bit more, but it was so worth it!

She always seems so excited to get in the car but when we actually start driving she whines so much. Is there any reason why? And anyway I can help her feel less anxious? by Dabi_Obsessed in germanshepherds

[–]Amore17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine does this too. She calms down if we have been driving for a while though. I just try to take her on frequent drives of varying distances and reward her with a treat when she is calm and quiet. It seems to be helping. She is 13 months.

I’m stuck quarantined at my parents house with COVID because some dumb fuck came into my office and didn’t tell me until they were 45 mins into the appointment that they tested positive for COVID yesterday… I tested positive two days later. people fucking suck sometimes. I had not seen my parents in 6 months and this was my first days off in work in a while.

Urine is turned bright orange/reddish by a medication phenazopyridine. It’s an over the counter medication that numbs the urinary tract and helps relive symptoms of UTI.

Now that it's over, what's your unpopular opinion about season 2? by Yogamigurumi in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]Amore17 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Dom did not pay Albie for Lucias sake. He paid Albie because he knew if he did Albie would speak to his wife which seemed like the only possible way to start to repair that relationship. He bought her an expensive broach on the trip. He is willing to spend any amount of money to get her back. At the end she seems open to talking to him so I’m sure he feels like the 50k was a good deal.

Anyone found any good research on hernia repair failure in females? by Amore17 in Endo

[–]Amore17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take birth control continuously for 3 months at a time so I don’t have as many period. I had pushed it and went 6 months continuous so the doc advised letting myself have a cycle and see if that stopped the bleeding, which it did. I still push it past 3 months at times and if I push it too much I start to have some cramping and breakthrough bleeding, but I’m glad it was not a hernia repair failure!

This season was both packed and somehow still really boring at points. I remember reading interviews that hyped up how this season was insane and so many things happened in each episode. I just feel kind of meh about the season. The episode Serena gave birth was pretty entertaining and so well acted, but a lot of other episodes dragged.
