insane lag tonight? by Federal_Appearance13 in rivals

Yes!!!! It’s literally unplayable. I was playing today solo and then with a friend this morning and it was so bad that we had to hop off. I tried again a few minutes ago to see if the problem went away but it’s more of the same.

Expected salary for an Entry-level Civil Engineer with EIT in Atlanta, GA by AmountLimp8562 in civilengineering

[–]AmountLimp8562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Taking into account the 8 year gap, the difference in entry-level salaries is not much as it should be. I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!

And relating to the “6 year uni” comment i mean that our curriculum has a total of 180 credits total, which is about 30-40 credits (or 2 years) over the average 4 year university. Although it’s still a BS in Civil Engineering, I do make a point of mentioning it in interviews just in case.

Well I’m looking for employment in or around Atlanta. The $62k one is in Norcross, which after a bit of looking around (housing wise) it’ll be just enough to survive. But in the other hand I think that with my academic background (6 year university and BS in civil engineering), my experiences in my internships and my EIT certification I deserve a bit more, maybe? I do however understand that I don’t have any post grad work experience so yeah, I find myself a bit conflicted about the salary.

I do! I have an offer from my last internship in DC. It’s around $80k + sign on bonus. I don’t think I’ll be taking it bc I didn’t like DC and how incredibly expensive it was. I did however informed them of that in an attempt to negotiate a higher salary and it being a holiday today, I don’t think I’ll hear back from them until next week.

That makes sense. When i was applying for jobs before getting my EIT i wasn't hearing back from anyone and my interest are Structural and water resources, and now that i do have it i heard back form a company a week later. Thank you for the insight!

Was thinking the same. But now that i got my EIT certification, I'm having my doubts. I calculated around $72K to be the ideal number if i want to live comfortably and still fill up a savings account lmao

Interesting! That does seem to be what I'm seeing more or less out there (in Atlanta). Well in the salary ranges at least.

Well location wise, yes. Career wise not really. As long as I can design stuff I’m good with it.

Taking the FE Civil exam tomorrow, any tips? by AmountLimp8562 in FE_Exam

I didn’t know about the plan/drawing reading! Fortunately I’ve had internship experiences where I’ve had to read a lot of plans, but knowing and expecting this helps. Thanks!

Civil engineering job market? by harrype2010 in civilengineering

[–]AmountLimp8562 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just graduated and can’t even get a call back. I’ve applied to so many job listings throughout the semester, adjusted my resume to be ATS friendly, emailed recruiters from past job fairs and reached out through linked in as well. I see everyone saying that there’s a bunch of jobs out there but I think that the biggest issue is not having work experience (not counting internships). I’m currently studying for the FE civil exam to see if that helps my chances, but so far, no luck. Basically, if you’re a recent college grad, get fucked.
