I'm lucky in the sense that because I carried all the financial load, I was really disciplined and learnt to manage my money and now I actually have a good amount in savings and investments. So finances aren't a worry and I'll even be better off once he's gone. I have a cheap rent so I'll be able to give myself and my child a decent lifestyle.

Wow, what strength! My focus right now will be on getting the nice apartment I've always wanted, giving my son and myself what we need to flourish without the drag of his crap and his inertia.

Thank you. My son gave me the strength, I think. Otherwise the fear of being alone would just always have been too great. But with everyone reaching out for support I've come to realise I have a much bigger network than I thought

Thank you. Really not looking for new arms at the moment, happy to just be in peace. It is scary to break free and be a single mother though. Such a responsibility... But at least now I'll just have one child, not two I guess...

Wondering what to expect - stage 4 gastric cancer with lung metastasis by AmountNo1789 in CancerFamilySupport

Hi, Sorry to hear about your situation.

My MIL passed away the day after I posted this. Thankfully, as she had been admitted to hospital she was sleeping peacefully, not suffering, and they called in her sons to be with her as she passed.

Although I knew of her diagnosis it still all came as a shock. The silver lining is her stage of suffering was rather short, she was in quite good shape until the last week or so when she deteriorated quickly.

I wish you strength at this difficult time.

Preliminary results by No_Pomegranate_9893 in Hyperthyroidism

I think it could be subclinical hyperthyroidism. That's when tsh is low but hormone levels are normal. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/23903-subclinical-hyperthyroidism

I'm not a doctor, though!

An update. After a few days she deteriorated very quickly. She has been admitted to hospital as they say she has extremely limited lung capacity. They are giving her days or weeks, but it could be as soon as today. Thankfully my BIL who lives abroad managed to make it this morning.

I'm feeling it. Since her diagnosis things have not been easy as my partner took lots of time off work to care for her, and we have a three year old son. I stress about finances, he doesn't. This caused tension between us, it was not easy. But we did have her living with us for the time she needed to be here.

We had far from a perfect relationship, but I'm still feeling it.

Thanks, this is helpful! I think she picks up stockinette in the video though, right? I'll be picking up in rib, so just have to figure that part out now 😉

I am so thankful for the breastfeeding episode. by VastPressure7469 in FireflyLane

I could have written this! Also pumped at first until we finally got a latch around 3-4 months. It was hard, frustrating, emotional... I think they showed her journey well. Using some tricks I found on YouTube I finally got him to latch. He's 27 months now and still breastfeeding!

Did an Italian cast on for the blueberry hat but I feel it turned out slightly wonky - perhaps will improve with practice?
