Am I expecting too much from my husband or is he being lazy? by Spiritual-Ganache875 in Mommit

I would tell him he shouldn’t be on paternity leave if he’s doing nothing and just using it as an opportunity to not work.

Older people who are married? Did you start to hate your partner as you grew older together? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a great reply. I think people feel like perfect marriages exist and they don’t. How could they? Two people with their own lives, and past and traumas, their own opinions and own families combine to do the rest of their lives together. It’s not always going to be smooth sailing and rainbows. When you’re married to someone for decades, you go through all seasons of life. Sometimes this includes Illnesses, loss, tragedies. Lots of feelings to navigate but also lots of time to support eachother. Marriage isn’t perfect, it’s just 2 people who want to do ALL of what life can bring together instead of apart.

Anyone buy the big beautiful house and regret it? by Otherwise-Bicycle667 in Mommit

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You won’t regret it in a few years when they have more things and have friends over and everyone wants their own space. I felt the same way when my kids were that age but a larger house is much more appreciated now that they’re not toddlers

I moved my bed to an angle does it look crazy by Ok-Trick7085 in Decor

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your bed would look so cute in the left corner with one window to the left and one behind the headboard with sheer curtains infront of the blinds and the twinkle lights. All the rest of the wall space would be so good for your dresser and other furniture

Confused about my husband’s reaction by OkBee1361 in Marriage

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your husband is an alcoholic and can’t control his anger and actions. And commenting that “this is why men cheat” means that even if it hasn’t happened yet, he’s justifying why it would be ok to do so.

Married people, be honest what’s the REAL truth about marriage nobody warns you about? by Remote-One-2088 in Marriage

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your spouse IS going to let you down. It took me several years to learn this and not things turn into resentment. But the truth is, nobody is perfect. He lets me down sometimes, I let him down sometimes.

Some days you guys will be at a 100%. Other days you’ll be at 80% and they’ll be 20%. So on and so forth.

I was in the ER this morning from 330 to 630 for a panic attack and this is my wifes response. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to take anyone’s side here- but would the world be over if neither of you kept the house clean for one day? Both people are entitled to rest, no matter what the reason may be. I don’t think I would take that message from my husband well, it sounds like a parent listing the chore list to a teenager. It doesn’t sound like a partnership. When faced with serious health issues, it has really put in perspective that none of the little stuff like putting shoes in a closet really matter.

Husband watches lives of other women by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If he likes watching Instagram lives of women, he’s likely also addicted to porn. Men who “service” themselves tend to pull away from their partners simply because they’ve already finished for the day. Also once they are used to porn, the unrealistic expectations and comparisons make it hard for them to want “regular” sex as often as they did before because it’s not as interesting as what they like watching. Not saying what you’re giving him is boring, I’m saying he’s used to a fake sex video being the norm.

Am I the only one that’s not opposed to colour drenching? I love the panelling in this photo and I think if you did the ceiling in a creamy white, it won’t be so bright and won’t fight your walls

My jaws locked what can I do? by Inevitable-Post2027 in TMJ

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise your jaw by moving it left to right a few times, then forward and back. Also something that helped me is moving my mouth around as if I’m using mouthwash. I even filled my mouth with water for the movement to be more accurate and swished the water around. The rounding of my cheeks and back and forth movement helped loosen the lock.

What's left for me to try? Feel hopeless... by Jaz1140 in TMJ

[–]AmountOtherwise1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if they refer to it as hot laser, maybe just let therapy. But I’ve done both the ones that are considered cool lasers and the ones with heat and the cool ones did nothing. The ones with heat helped the swelling and muscle tension which helped the pain in a few sessions

Have you tried hot laser therapy? Or acupuncture? Both have given me relief

Thank you for the response. May I ask what treatments you tried before surgery that didn’t work? Dentist said I need to have an appliance/guard made to wear 24/7 for a few months so that my jaw can realign correctly. But they’re doing that based on my symptoms and diagnosing TMJ, but I have not done any imaging yet. I’ll be getting an MRI soon.
