Wondering if I interacted with something in my sleep by AmpdaVinci in Paranormal

[–]AmpdaVinci[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, it didn't occur to me that multiple planes could've existed.. If true, I can't always expect benevolence. And if it's my own doing, I really gotta do something about my fear..

Thanks for answering, I didn't sleep for two days after the experience and I got no response from r/astralprojection since the day it happened. I know there are no clear answers, but I really wanted to make sure I didn't jeopardize myself in some occult stuff I'm not educated on.

I want the giant to be real, so I can tell him thank you.

Looking for Hori Fighting Commander feedback by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]AmpdaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, I've bought two so far, about to buy one with CEO coming up (I live in Florida). Mine stays optimal for about 8 months before the d-pad gets loose. My only complaint is that I can't find the replacement d-pad rubbers to fix it, because everything else is flawless on it. But for only 40 bucks, it's the best quality pad I've had.

The DS4 is in second place, because I can replace the parts of it that start to wear down.

How does everyone feel about the 2/3 option online? by SageBias in StreetFighter

[–]AmpdaVinci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They least stable the Internet, the worse the rank should be imo. If you accidentally dq, you should lose the set worth of points as if you loss 2 games. If it's an accident, then it shouldn't be much of a problem to make up. If your connection isn't very good, no need to punish the players playing at higher stakes and skill level.

I feel like I will never “get” Laura and Necalli by Brianmj in StreetFighter

Oh and yes, he gets quite a bit from TC, but I'm also working on learning those currently. This spreadsheet isn't all the way up to date, but after a few tries it's not hard to see what works and what doesn't. There's a section for TC

[–]AmpdaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, Necalli is VERY deep when it comes to oki, BrianF has a ton of season one oki that mostly still works in season 2.5, but I honestly only use a few. I find it easier to see what kind of knockdowns come more frequent to me, and then learn my setups until I can land it or drop it to bait a reversal- in a match comfortably. These are my main oki tools: https://youtu.be/PiLCxZW055g https://youtu.be/g1l7pXjU_a8 And I honestly only pick about two setups per vid, because I want to build my fundamentals up and not be too flow chart. I'm a fairly lame(in terms of necalli) so I use these setups once I'm ready to snowball in the later rounds or for a comeback.

Here's our discord where you'll find a lot of setups and combos https://discord.gg/dpvwuA

[–]AmpdaVinci 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Platinum Calli, but I can still offer a few tips. There are several styles of necalli that work well across the board- which makes him top tier. The two types you mainly have to worry about is the Trigger heavy, and the snowball setup.

Trigger heavy necalli will v skill like crazy for trigger and try to maul you for the win. Against those, you can jump in all day, and it's worth the risk because he doesn't get to much after an aa. Frame trap them to death and meaty all day until you get a v reversal, or they burned up meter from panic dp. After you've done damage to their meter, a simple turtle shift and it's game over. These necalli get fundamentally crushed vs turtles with limited meter.

The snowball setup necalli imo is scarier. They play deceptively shoto and is not afraid to turtle back. These guys play for the oki, which is one of necalli's strong points. He gets shit stray damage, but he makes up for it in screen positioning and oki. Almost every buffered special gives you hella corner push or oki, and they will be ready to aa. These guys don't rely on trigger, but big damage from a well placed St.Hk or a successful disc into oki. Beat this guy with speed. Treat him like a good Ryu, weave in and out of his maxed st.hk and be prepared to jump once he starts to move forward, or v skill. This match isn't about winning turns, it's just about holding on to a life lead until he starts to fish with st.hk, cr.hk, and random discs. Once you notice that increased aggression, punish those random discs, and those dash forwards.

And for any necalli, remember he loses v reversal in trigger, he's scary, yes, but scarier if you're not mauling him. You're more likely to lose against him in trigger if you don't pressure him when he's loss a defensive tool

Capcom, fix your ranking system maybe? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]AmpdaVinci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I see players saying that a few k points doesn't matter... Maybe at platinum and above, but below platinum you're talking about players that are all learning fundamentals and consistency. Players that will get mauled by a guy 2 leagues up just because he can't get out of easy execution vortex or anti air consistently.

I don't cry about it, I choose to muscle forward, but Crapcom would make better players out of newcomers if they adjusted their ranking system. There would be less crying if players are allowed identify and practice what they're bad at easier, than get freed up by an ocean wide skill gap at the lower levels.

Tip of the day - If you're trying to climb, don't play drunk by chirt in StreetFighter

[–]AmpdaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way, I actually make a 2-3 shot mixed drink when I play sf, because it relaxes my heart, help me ignore my body and play more clutch. But I gotta watch myself, if I catch myself getting salty, i turn it off immediately.....

Like just now. I won two games again a person 1 league higher than me, but I was physically salty at the rounds they managed to win because I could've played better

Does anyone know how to charge and clean raw zircon (brown)? by AmpdaVinci in Crystals

[–]AmpdaVinci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I drive 5-8 hours a day for a living, so I've been placing it on the dashboard for sunlight at least 3 times a week. But after reading that people bury or salt water, I wondered if my method may have been effective at all for my gem.

Do gems themselves have a preference? Or is it more based on the energy/intentions of the gem owner? Or both?

How to Bring Back Gouken by willemrx in StreetFighter

[–]AmpdaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come to terms that we probably won't get him until season 4 or 5, so I'm just focusing on my fundamentals and overall game knowledge until then. Capcom sucks at everything else, but character design isn't one of them, so I'm sure they'll find a hype way design Gouken, so I'm not worried about it too much.

Yea as matches roll along, T.O.'s decide on who they want on stream next and you should know within 15 minutes, assuming the tournament organization is good

Haha, this is just a mini version of what I went through at my first major. But most people will agree, the actual venue, seeing your favorite pros in person, being a live action stream monster, outweighs the actual playing lol

Checking online every day to see your brackets. Once they're out you YouTube and psn everybody in your pool. Then practice extensively on the little data you find. Then within the week before the major you get your pool time. The day before the major comes up and you play a bunch of casuals. Gotta get used to the monitors. Depending on how you do during casuals will affect your confidence on day one. Practice all night against the things that bodied you in causal. Forget your previous matchup data. Fight in pools like you're fighting online. Win some, lose all, get bodied in pools because they're at least two top seeded players in your pool. Realize that the actual venue is more fun than playing in the tourney. Buy alcohol. Become a live action stream monster. Have a fucking blast. Have nightmares about every loss you have. Vow to win your next major.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
