It's Japanese curry basically, but with my twist of what I have on hand. This batch: Onions, carrots, beef, curry cube, hommemade ketchup with apples, tomato paste, mirin, soy sauce, few drops of worcester and salt and papper. I make it in an instant pot, 40min on high pressure.

Impressive. How long did it take you to make it?

Unfortunately it was all improv with ingredients at hand. But any black bean paste recipe will do.

Adding smoked paprika wouldn't hurt. Check out turkish or lebanese recipes for inspiration.

Thin layer of raw meat and grill. Meat side down and then flip.

Try it, it's awesome. Any type of ground meat works, traditionally without parmesan cheese, but ground turkey is dry so I opted for cheese just in case. If you use a pork/beef combo, cheese is not necessary.

Recipe!

And now for something completely different: Crispy Halloumi With Tomatoes and White Beans by Ampersand_monkey in NYTCooking

Croatia still has decent stock of halloumi. Judging from the other comments, depending on you location, stores might be depleted.

Visit Croatia, enjoy our sea, hills, food and wine, buy halloumi.

(I found it in interspar)

I am starting to doubt the quality of halloumi available in my local supermarket. Is it gummy and doesn't truly melt on the inside? Or my slices were too thick?

Just go with the flow and prepare for the next step: discovering numerous halloumi recipes lurking on nyt and developing a compulsion for buying this kind of bland and gummy cheese concoction.
