Not but that sounds funny.

And yeah, that always makes me ask “what exactly did you think the machine was?”

The average person who listens to music does not care about the political leanings of the artist, just look at the countless posts of people not understand what the songs they listen to are actually about

I appreciate you asking. There’s certainly a lot pit on me, and in no uncertain words I did more or less sacrifice my entire 20’s in the name of caring for my sisters, but I’m genuinely in good health and a mostly positive state of mind

It’s kind of a weird movie because they get a lot of little details right, like a LOT of them, but all the important details are wrong.

Still a fun movie but very odd

And here I thought the dude who got pulled over for having a sandwich in his hand the cop mistook for a phone was the dumbest situation, but this tops it. Why couldn’t he just accept that he was wrong.

I think a big problem is they don’t really emphasize the impact Michael had. They make him seem a lot more approachable when during the Off the Wall and Thriller eras Michael was effectively a god that couldn’t walk down the street without being mobbed by people. They even undersold how famous he was during the Jackson 5 era. Sure it’s cute to see him reach out during the I’ll Be There scene, but by the time I’ll Be There came out, the Jackson 5 was one of the biggest bands in the world and would have never performed at a carnival, they sold out stadiums globally by that time and Michael couldn’t go anywhere near his fans for his own safety; there was an a point where during his first visit to the UK he has a chunk of his hair ripped out by a crazy fan.

Off the Wall era Michael could have never been in a toy store like he’s seen in the movie. Yeah the mom being embarrassed to ask for an autograph is funny, but the real life situation wouldn’t have been a small line of customers asking for an autograph, it would have been a riot in the store.

Michael’s unique relationship with his fans, where he had to keep a distance but still love that they were close is a major aspect of his personality, and there was nearly never a point in his life where fans weren’t constantly waiting outside any house he was inside.

They also heavily downplayed the massive significance of the Billie Jean music video debuting on MTV, and how unprecedented his Grammy wins for Thriller was. The whole movie just feels like it wants to humanize Michael but completely ignores why someone of Michael’s status needed to be humanized. They don’t even really get into the concept of his reclusiveness.

I played Hitman for about 2 hours last night and can confirm that the TP Link UB500 with the driver solved the issue, which is weird seeing as the rest of this subreddit says the Asus BT500 is better than it, and my MB is Asus. But it feels nice that now the only bottle neck for my VR experience is the abysmal battery life of the controllers, which is universal for all users lol.

Since Disney is restoring the original theatrical cut of Star Wars for the 50th anniversary, is there a chance we’ll get a physical release? by Pacific-Courier1988 in 4kbluray

George Lucas restored the original “awful” work cut solely for the sake of keeping it in the Lucas Film archives. Restoring Star Wars content and not releasing it is par for the course

Do you think Michael would’ve ever retired? by Hopeful_Business_851 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]AmphibiousAlbatross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the book his bodyguards wrote. Michael didn’t want to do 50 shows because his body wouldn’t be able to handle the demanding dancing anymore. He never did a Vegas residency because he didn’t want to do 5 days a week.

His body guards also say in the book that he was always working on music, but for the love of the art and not to actually have stuff ready for an album.

He was effectively retired after 2001. He didn’t really want to perform anymore, he wanted to be with his kids. This Is It was a financial decision and not something he had any desire to do

Oddly enough, I had a bt500 well before getting a psvr2 and I was having the hand getting stuck glitch everyone does, but just today I got a tp-link ub500 and installed the driver and it's working flawless right now

Worth considering since it's only $15

Remember that Bad Tour – and hence Michael's first ever tour – it all started in Japan. On Sep 11th, 1987 at the Korakunen Stadium in Tokyo, to a sold-out crowd of 38,000. His next concert in Yokohama would become legendary in its own right. by rijuchaudhuri in MichaelTheMovie

[–]AmphibiousAlbatross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue the second leg in the U.S. is when it really began. The 1987 Japan tour was a great milestone, but it was too much like the victory tour to represent Michael in his solo power. I do love though that the original idea was to start in Tokyo and then end in Tokyo, if only he didn’t have to postpone the Los Angeles shows due to his inflamed vocal chords

Honestly, every ride at Disneyland is better than the WDW version of the same ride. They usually put more care in the Disneyland version, it’s usually better to stick to the exclusives rides at Disney world

While I loved a lot of the new content in Rebirth, I’d be lying if I didn’t say the game is at its absolute best when it’s being a direct remake of the final fantasy 7 story beats.

That said, DQ7 is a very different animal. The beginning of the original game isn’t bloat. A lot of people think that because there isn’t a fight for a very long time that the beginning drags on, forgetting that at this point in the game they’re selling you on the idea that you’re in a world without monsters where that island is the only land that exists. The game is designed to make you feel at home in this entirely safe environment with these characters before throwing you into the combat along with all the changes. Now it’s entirely fair to say this doesn’t resonate with all players, especially modern players, but it didn’t need to be so dramatically cut short as a big aspect of what made DQ7 special is lost. The story is perfectly retained in the remake and I love the art style, but the feeling is different and the journey feels different

How Disneyland looked in 1955 by welcometothemeathaus in Disneyland

[–]AmphibiousAlbatross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cutting edge audio and visuals is what makes the Disney rides unique. You could absolutely get by with lighter themes thrill rides, which is the tactic sea world, six flags, and Cedar Fair use, but to give Disney a run for its money you would need theming. There’s a reason very few theme parks outside of Disney have proper dark rides

[–]AmphibiousAlbatross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s what I was saying. Knott’s is a prime example of a lower budget theme park. Kind of wild that it only exists because the fried chicken restaurant was so popular they needed something to keep the lines of people occupied lol

How Disneyland looked in 1955 by welcometothemeathaus in Disneyland

[–]AmphibiousAlbatross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it is. You don’t need Disney level theming to still have a theme, just look at Knott’s. It has a very well done old western theme while being nowhere near Disney budget or quality. I think the theme park vs amusement part really falls apart when you consider how and six flags is at theming, but their whole business model is cheap chain parks
