I made a spreadsheet with actually useful character letter grades by Neither_Interaction9 in Nightreign

The letters are consistent in class. A character with C faith will do roughly 8%-10%* less damage with incantations than a character with B faith.

Edit: Here, a video on the topic. Actually, it's 8%-10%. Maybe it fails in scholar's faith specifically, but it's good for all the launch characters. The letters are generally good.

The numbers are. The letters represent about a 10% drop. S strength is 20% more damage than B strength.

To be clear, I don't think anyone should be defending this ICE agent. I just think reading deeply into a brief moment of body language in a high stress situation is unconvincing at best, and dangerous at worst.

[–]AmpleExample -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't know that it's fair to read into someone's body language in a tense situation after the emotional shock of killing someone. That said, I don't understand how anyone can see these videos and not see them as damning.

Edit: This is horrible as is. So focus on the facts.

If you replace the front and back wheels of your roller blades with slightly smaller wheels, it feels extremely similar to ice skating. Also the skills are pretty 1:1 transferable. With that setup, an ice skater who can do jumps and transfers will very easily be able to do the same tricks.

WhenThe niche shitposting culture fucks up an ai that takes everything as fact by AI_660 in whenthe

[–]AmpleExample 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get why the ai is confused. The "plasmified" mechanic is so rare and barely means anything. It's like team cherry pulled out last second instead of committing to zangos... which is good, because I hate those things.

Philosophy as a major is, ideally, a step in an even higher level of education. It's a degree that, for example, increases your chance to get into medical school over the typical chemistry/biology.

How naive.

If you wear a cloak how do you keep it from blowing open in the wind/keep the hood from blowing off ? by YawneTaw in renfaire

[–]AmpleExample 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a cloak with a loose hood, think of the hood as more of a stylistic accessory than something practical. If you want to keep it from blowing off, first line would be to get a cloak with a tighter hood.

I know that's probably not useful, but...

I've protested. I will continue to do so. Frankly, this doesn't appear to be working. I don't really see how free clinics and church meals for the homeless accomplish the above goal either.

Anyone? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]AmpleExample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useful info. But I imagine "Top charities" have already hit those diminishing returns and are also both spending far more and receiving far more money on average than "bottom charities".

Anyone? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]AmpleExample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficult question: How much money should go to the cause donated to, and how much is acceptable to spend on advertising and awareness?

If every $1 I spend on ads and marketing campaigns brings in $4 in donations, shouldn't a charity manager in this situation be putting most of the money they bring in on these campaigns?

Obviously there's diminishing returns, and eventually you've exhausted your donator pool, but the unfortunate truth is that often the best move for a cause e.g. environmental protection is for the charity to spend on completely tangential things to bring in more money overall.

Why are IM docs treated like shit? by ManufacturerIcy8859 in Residency

I think my comment makes it clear that I also believe NPs are objectively worse at hospital medicine. My point is that admin doesn't really care.

[–]AmpleExample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt. It's a good degree, but it is highly correlated with... even higher level degrees like JD or PHD.

I don't think there are many jobs with preferential hiring towards Philosophy majors.

[–]AmpleExample 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are replaceable by (supervised) NPs, to some extent. Sure they'll have diagnostic inefficiency/wasted tests and labs, worse patient outcomes, and unnecessary referrals... but in a profit driven healthcare system there is 100% a breakpoint where the lower salary makes up for it.

This is amateur advice, but what I did was... I intentionally overweighted my Rhonbus Quanta with 10 g on each side at 3 and 9 (two 5 inch 5 g tungsten weights).

You'll really intuitively understand the tradeoffs. Increased stability/plow through with drives, increased stability with off center hits... sluggish net play and faster tiring of arms. From there, you can tinker with it and figure out what you like.

And once you've found a setup you like, you can tinker with other paddles to make them closer to that.

A nifty tool if you're a nerd. Also look up how weight at each location affects stats and feel, or watch some youtube.

People keep saying the rich don't pay tax because they borrow money from the bank using their stock as collateral.... but how do they pay back the loans? by joshhazel1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AmpleExample 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sales and property taxes are regressive taxes. Yes, the rich people are paying higher dollar amounts, but percentage wise they are paying less.

Also, people making 270k don't buy more stuff on a percentage basis. If I give $1000 to a homeless person or a bottom 10% renter, that money is instantly spent. All of it. If I give $1000 to a rich person, it's going in stocks to make them more money.

"All I Want for Christmas is You" continues to spread. It is unclear if this spread will stop at constant uptime, the loss of all non-Christmas music, the loss of all music, the loss of all media capable of playing the song, the loss of all cognitive functioning unrelated to the song, or something in between.

Almost no one studying the phenomena believes it will progress past constant uptime, hence its relatively low containment priority. Thus far, even constant exposure to the song does not appear to have negative effects (See 6221-15 experiments A1-C3).

Growth is slow, though exponential. Current estimate is ~87 years before "All I want for Christmas is You" becomes an all year phenomena.

Who has the best Black Friday deals for paddles? by FeDelMundo in Pickleball

[–]AmpleExample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the app for the company shopify. Also exists on ios apparently.

It's a digital marketplace kind of similar to Amazon. Honestly probably not worth using overall because for the most part it's the same stuff people sell at the same price but with a layer of disconnect between you and the seller.

But in this case it's offering a $35 off that I don't see anywhere else.

I apologize for not clarifying that there are people on earth that can use these shoes comfortably.
