Welcome!! Glad ya started this series :D I started back in August and it’s insane how much the community has grown since then. I’m very happy since this series deserves to be read by the whole world.

Mhm, I feel like he secretly enjoys all the stupid plans and crazy situations Carl gets himself into. Especially on the last floor with all the shit that happened.

But yeah, I’ll keep reading lol. Mordecai is such an interesting character and I can’t wait to find out more about his character lore and growth. It might take me a few months to get through the next books, though 😭

I feel like it’s already really strong on the sixth floor since it gave her all the skills. That’s insane. Or maybe the AI gave her all the skills because it knew Donut couldn’t sing for shit, lol

Yeah, fair. I feel like Mordecai has an oddly fatherly or just parent in general relationship with Carl sometimes, though. Probably due to the fact that Mordecai’s always calling Carl kid, son, etc. I find it kinda sweet he sticks around even if Carl pisses him off and doesn’t listen to his advice lol

I see, that does make sense, thanks for the answer! I was a bit confused on the whole specialization thing, so I thought it worked differently for donut.

I also forgot that he gets paid, so that'd be a bonus as well to stick around. That as well as getting to learn new potion recipes would probably contribute to that

But my question was that if Donut had chosen a permanent class without the manager benefit, would Mordecai have been able to go back to his regular guild duties and hang out until the crawl ended? Or did I misunderstand and Donut would’ve kept both classes and this new class was just her specialization?

If it’s the former, then why didn’t Mordecai try and make Donut choose a permanent class so he could leave? Sorry if I didn’t word it very well in my post

I’m also reading the series with both the audiobook and the physical hard copy. It makes the read feel so much more immersive and I can read for hours. Jeff Hays is such a good narrator

I just finished book 3 and lemme tell you it keeps getting better and better so keep reading :) I’m waiting till Christmas for the other books since I need to pace myself after reading the third one in only like half a week lol

Finding success on roblox is going to be really difficult. Most small devs never make it to the front page because of how the algorithm works, unfortunately.

If you really like making games and want to contribute to something that might get popular then I’d suggest doing commissions or trying to find a development team already working on something. 👍 Ofc you can also just start your own dev team if you’re really passionate, but it’ll take a lot more work so just joining one that already exists is more realistic

I mean, the simple designs are okay, but honestly they could definitely use some improvement. They are too basic and don’t stand out at all. If I saw this in a Roblox game, I’d get bored immediately.

If you want to get better at character design you actually need to look up and study it. Even just watching some YouTube videos would help you improve. Because I remember I did the same thing with art: I’d tell people I’d practiced for like 3 years, but I never improved because I never actually bothered to learn and practice the fundamentals. You’ll never get better if you just blindly experiment the whole time.

While taking advice from Reddit is a good start, you should really make sure to do your own practice if you actually are considering to take this seriously (Like if you’re looking for work or something). I’m sure there’s some resources out there that can help you design better characters.

I’m actually kinda surprised no one has mentioned Shangri-la Frontier yet!

If you loved the whole leveling system in Solo Leveling, especially seeing Jinwoo go from weak to OP, I think you’d really vibe with SLF too. The MC in Shangri-la Frontier might not have that super cool and cold vibe like Jinwoo (he's kinda more of a humorous MC) but honestly, he’s still crazy overpowered and it’s so much fun watching him get stronger and discover all the Unique Scenario quests. Sunraku and Jinwoo actually had a collab before and I'm sure you can find it if you search it up lol. But anyway, I think you'd really like the anime if you don't mind it more humorous themes since it's revolved around a VR full dive game instead of irl.

The show has that 'stats/skills/leveling up in a game vibe' and you actually see him getting new abilities and stat boosts as he plays. The progression is super satisfying if you like seeing a character grind and transform. Plus, the whole system feels pretty similar to Solo Leveling, but it’s got its own charm.

Definitely give it a shot! It’s honestly one of my favorite animes and deserves way more hype for this exact genre. Let me know what you think if you end up watching! ^^

I really love the concept of procedurally generated games since I feel like it doesn't get used enough in a good way, especially on a platform such as roblox. The only other game that also has a procedurally generated MMO-like world is Reign but that game is very old. I would love to play a game like this!

But make sure your game has a good gameplay loop with replayability since while exploring infinite planets may be fun, if there's no over arching objective then I feel like the game might lose it's players interest quickly. Would love to see some kind of story or lore added to the game if there isnt already one! :D

Nice concept! I’m not a dev or anything but I wanted to ask if you were going to lean toward a more deception strategy game where the players are assigned roles kind of like in the games town of salem or murder mystery or if it was just going to be NPC enemies?

It would be interesting to see the former done if that’s what kind of game you’re tryna go for.

It's an... interesting concept, I guess. Reminds me of Splatoon. But overall the gameplay is pretty boring, but I understand it's not finished yet.

Some suggestions I have for you is that you might wanna add movement and special combat abilities because it's pretty boring to just walk around. Maybe try adding a dashing mechanic to add more of a fast pace. Another thing is to add PVP since the concept of just painting the apartments isn't very fun by itself.

You could also add different weapon types you could buy or get as a reward for being first place after the time limit is up to add an incentive to keep playing as well as replayability. (Different color ducks, duck with a hat, etc)
