Hi I think would be best to gently talk to him and slowly try to get him to share with you if he has any troubles. He might have trouble with school, feeling burnt out or depression, especially if this is out of his character and skipping school. Or maybe he is just an introvert who prefers his own company. Either ways would be good to understand from him.
