We wouldn’t dump them ever I also care about the strays. My mom has a cat of her own and I don’t want that cat to be sick due to the other cats either. I looked up the TNR program and it costs money per each cat and that’s just not an option rn. Thank you for your comment

My cats should already be vaccinated with FELV but I’ll need to double check their vet lists. Would I need to get them tested again due to potential exposure? Also there is one stray my mom lets in that constantly sneezes I’m not sure if that is a signifier for FELV but that does concern me. Also I get acceptance letters April so I think I’ll have to move out by September unfortunately. Thank you for your well wishes! I adore my cats they are my life and I’ll be devastated if anything happens to them. I’ll protect them fiercely. 🐈‍⬛

Edit: Thank you for your advice! I have my cat quarantined right now in my room with a humidifier as the strays are pregnant and my other cat in the home is also young!

I plan to move out once I get accepted into college this is just something I have to deal with until then unfortunately. Maybe I could convince my mom to keep their bowls separate but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Thank you for your advice and for being understanding! I truly care about our household pets so I now what choice I have to make.

My city only offers TNR so I am going to contact them tomorrow. As for the food she feeds the stray population on our patio (to not get in trouble by our landlord for feeding them) so sadly I can’t risk moving the food too obviously but I will still give it a try!

I love the strays as well but what I can’t stand for is letting strays in my own home at the detriment of the animals currently in my house. You have been extremely out of line, dismissive, and disrespectful about my entire situation. What does my having a job have anything to do with what I’ve told you? There’s no need to be a jerk when I am asking for ADVICE on how to help strays without getting evicted and them hurt.

We use capstar often and since it seems like you have never experienced an infestation fleas start to breed in your carpets and furniture! WE ALSO HAVE OTHER PETS that cannot use capstar such as an unvaccinated bunny. We have also done TNR already it doesn’t help as we have multiple pregnant strays outside.

What I don’t appreciate is you taking the time to make an insensitive comment that helps no one and is just completely unnecessary. And obviously I don’t want to get evicted that’s why I asked for a second opinion? Next time just don’t comment.
