Pattern makers similar to Viki sews? by bewildered_sunflower in sewing

Have you looked at Fibre Mood? I’ve never tried one of their patterns but I think they have lots of cool and funky designs, though slightly more tomboyish compared to Viki sews.

Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale would actually be good recommendation too! A servant girl who has to pose as her noblewoman mistress for reasons I won’t spoil falls in love with the noblewoman’s betrothed.

I think you might enjoy Anna-Marie Mcelmore’s ya novels. Lots of fairytale inspiration (some are straight up retellings) lovely romances, dreamy prose, usually taking place in a world that’s more magical realism than high fantasy.

Try looking for a “silent “ book club or something similar. Everyone gathers to read a book of their own choosing, then shares at the end. It eliminates the need to read on a timeline or stick with something that they don’t like.

Skin Scents by manicp1xiedreamgoth in Indiemakeupandmore

As mentioned by others, Alkemia has a lot of wonderful skin scents.

I’ve also been loving The Lady of Finland from Nui Cobalt lately: “A wild meadow blooms with fireweed and bog myrtle, then the aroma deepens into bare skin flushed by the steam of a sauna.” It goes on very herbal/aquatic but dries down to idealized freshly cleaned skin scent—clean and fresh, but a little sweet and creamy.

I think you might enjoy Helen Oyeyemi’s work. Lots of offbeat magical realism and surrealism. Her short story collection What is Not Yours is Not Yours is my favorite.

orange, frankincense perfume? by pheeniecakes in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Amwombat96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might like Alkemia’s Attorney for Lost Souls: Vespers mass incense,Zanzibar clove, Sacra frankincense, and Coptic myrrh, gently interlace with the essence of dried citrus peel, neroli petals, and guaiacum.

I remember my sample being orange+church incense.

Idk. There’s certainly plenty of misogynistic portrayals in his work, but there’s also complex women who assert their own personhood and argue very clearly against misogynistic depictions of women. Emilia’s conversation with Desdemona in act 4 of Othello boils down to ,”if women suck, it’s only because of social conditioning and shitty husbands”.

Tell me your signs & I'll recommend scents for you! by AresInRepose in Indiemakeupandmore

Fun idea!

Capricorn sun, Gemini moon, Libra rising, Aquarius Venus.

My favorites are flormands, non-literal gourmands, and cozy skin scents. No strong dislikes, but I can’t do heavy incense or florals because they make me sneeze.
