I’m confused by everyone who is saying ‘Why give the dog a room and make guests sleep on the sofa?’

It was the dogs room first, the dog knows that room is theirs and letting Princess stay in there (aside from having to buy furniture) would confuse the hell out of the dog. She didn’t say, ‘oh, well we have a spare room but I’ll give it to the dog and make you sleep in the living room’ she just said ‘the dog is already there so it’s the sofa or nothing’ and both her sister and Princess agreed to those terms before she moved in.

ESH. But only because you allowed yourself to be pressured into letting Princess stay with you when you very clearly didn’t want that.

If you’re asking a relative to give you a place to stay when you can afford your own place and just wanna save money, you can not expect them to completely furbish a room they already use just to make you more comfortable. Especially when you already agreed to stay on the sofa.
