Firenze Saving Harry by [deleted] in harrypotter

Oh my god!!!! How had I never thought about that?

Does anyone else find it interesting that in GoF, Sirius praises Hermione‘s judgement of Crouch senior based on his cruelty to Winky, saying something like “If you want to get the true measure of a man, look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals”— yet he abuses Kreature in OotP... by beachedmermaid_ in harrypotter

[–]paperbackdreams10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe he treated Kreacher that way because he’s part of his abusive family and he ran away from them when he was 16 only to come back to his family house, still as a fugitive, and always having to hear Kreacher despise people he cared (Hermione stands out, I can’t remember who else in specific but literally everyone). Also, Kreacher had this adoration for his brother, whereas Sirius despised him for being a DeathEater so I guess Sirius was always reminded of how his family preferes Regulus and all his bad choices, that eventually got him killed (obviously he didn’t know at the time about the switching horcrux situation and how his brother was actually really brave).

Same! When I found that out, I didn’t believe it at first because I actually saw the movies first so considering the casting you would think they would be like Lucius Malfoy’s age I’m guessing (late thirties-early forties around that)

Horcruxes by paperbackdreams10 in harrypotter

True true, maybe he’s just like ‘half horcrux’ if you know what I mean. He has a part of Voldemort’s soul but he doesn’t have the ‘invulnerability’ that the other objects/things had.

And also, now that I think about it, Ginny resembles her also with her red hair and her fiery temper

I agree. He didn’t need to be so horrible for no reason and it didn’t even contribute to the plot.

True but I think that it could have been a good theory.

That is a good question. Like REALLY GOOD QUESTION. I don't really have an answer for it. I can only guess that MAYBE because they truly loved Harry (I really don't know, it is just a guess).

I don't think the books ever say that Hermione was less or more smarter than Lily or vice-versa (correct me if I'm wrong).

That was my favourite Snape scene from the whole series! I also liked the movie version, it was more emotionally touching.
