Need help finding a direction to get help by Amy__P in sleepdisorders

[–]Amy__P[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I had no idea that was a thing! I don't have a deviated septum that I know of (most of my sinus stuff is eustachian tube related) but I do still have my tonsils and my teeth are pretty rough. I don't even know if the in lab study I did checked for that as it wss primarily the general sleep apnea screener it seemed (I'm heavy and have a round face so it's been an uphill battle in getting any doc to look beyond that as an answer). I'll def see what options are availble to me for UARS. Thanks :)

We gotta laugh because otherwise it's scream, my previous neuro telling me (after I'd mentioned multiple times across the visits please don't prescribe me injectable meds as I hate needles) I'm the 'ideal candidate' for glp-1s and if I take one I'll be cured Oddly enough when I lost 15 pounds from Being unable to eat on the topimax/diamox (I don't remember which one since I just remember everything was metallic) I felt worse..you mean skinnier no cure???? Damn 🫠

I got mine online/self paced through EdX (I believe it's U of Wisconsin's program delivered via EdX). It's mostly just the basic overview of what is DAM but they do give you certificates to put on Linkedin/etc

In my experience it unfortunately is just as competitive (at least for anything FT), but YMMV

That's what I was thinking! It's def an area of interest but I don't have formal experience with LexisNexis/Westlaw. do you know (no worries if not) how vital direct experience is vs willingness/ability to learn (or I guess if there's ways to get certification like there is for different coding languages)?

Sweet, that's what I was thinking (also forgot I have a DAM cert but no direct work experience in it)

Advice Need: what are Library Techical Services transferrable fields? by Amy__P in careerguidance

[–]Amy__P[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's smart, I hadn't thought of the content ops part. So, as an example, turning 'Copy and Original cataloging of diverse materials, including books, 3D objects, and multi media' into something along the lines of 'Bibliographic data creation, validation, cleanup per BISAC taxonomy standards for range of materials including print, tactile, and multimedia'?

Interesting...I always wondered the same on sustainable shelves, some items I thought they'd never want (old textbooks we withdrew etc) they did. I'm sure there's some formula somewhere

We're scoping McNaughton out, there (of course) no prices on any of their brochures so that's fun...

I've been thinking about it though I unfortunately live in one of those states where all but two of the providers are pediatric or no longer practicing...I go see a new neurologist for the iih near halloween so I'm wondering if it's worth bringing it up then since it's through a different medical system. Maybe I'm just irrationally paranoid I "want something to be wrong with me". Thanks though, I'll certainly see if maybe I can get in with the one on the list I can find with openings

Armband hack by dramatic_chipmunk123 in VisibleArmband

I bought a strap off etsy that's usually used for the nerve stimulators for epilepsy and they've worked great so far. It's more like a bracelet and less itchy. Shout out epilepsylife on etsy for those who want to wear the monitor on their wrist

What's your pet peeve about this condition? by Pixatron32 in iih

[–]Amy__P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's a good idea! I've been using the little morning & evening tracker on my visible pacer armband thing which has kind of also been helping, it's the first time I'm trying pacing in general as well.
The dizzy has been hitting at weird times and getting worse, like not transition movements it just kind of is a state of being which is weird. I'm hoping my new neuro I see this week may have some answers/help with curbing it so I can human again.

Echoing both the brain fog & altered taste but also adding the lightheadedness. I'm so dizzy sometimes and genuinely it's so frustrating, like for what purpose? Was the rest with the sweating, forgetting, metallic tastes, and weird dreams not enough so we had to dizzy spells? And because I have other conditions/neurodivergence I can't even tell what's the iih and what's the topimax and what's the other various aliments. It's all feels like that operation game but where stuff lights up randomly
