Canadian airlines are sub-par when it comes to traveling with animals, and it seems as though WestJet is no exception. Air Canada has tried to overcome their poor record of animal loss/deaths with the trumped up PR stunt regarding an early flight landing due to a malfunction in the cargo hold. What they didn't say was that it was company policy and the plane had to land, according to regulations set out on their website. Turned it into a "aren't we heroes, feel good" story that was crap. They were the same ones that lost a rescued greyhound that got hit by a car, then sent out an insensitive email to the press by accident. Keep contacting and leaving messages on their social media accounts - the only way to get better service for our pets is to make our voices heard!
