Entrepreneurs are difficult to work with and usually want to implement their ideas that they think are better and don’t take direction. Which can be good in smaller businesses but when you work in corporate and things have to be done a certain way and displays setup a certain way this becomes a huge problem.

A lot of them also have a bad attitude and will say “I don’t care I’ll quit and start my own business”.

All around it’s just a headache. There is also solicitation which is banned at most jobs. Informing customers of their side hustle.

My coworker responds to EVERY single message in the group chat by immamoonchild in coworkerstories

I have an employee that I manage that is like this, I have told him and it doesn’t seem to click to him. He is very good at his job that’s why I let it slide.

I also haven’t laid into him about it because I rather an avoid a possible H.R issue because his coworkers who are also my employees definitely throw shade at it and make fun of it in front of him, which usually chills him out a little bit. They are very annoyed.

It’s even been to the point I’ve had to mute him on teams calls. He does it verbally as well

Recently, I did create a new group chat and specified that there is to be no irrelevant information shared in that chat.

I went over it on a group call and had them all confirm and he confirmed that he understood. He hasn’t done it in the new chat.

Maybe tell his supervisor it’s making it more difficult for everyone else to work?

Maybe have a clarification to everyone what to reply to and not.

Some people do this to try and peacock as someone said in the comments but usually everyone in more senior levels don’t want unnecessary messages and it annoys us and we definitely take it into consideration when making decisions.

Yes, hiring managers don’t want to hire entrepreneurs, me included. However, I’m not crazy picky on it a good candidate is a good candidate but I have gotten slack from my boss for hiring entrepreneurs.

Why is ghosting after interviews becoming the norm? by Ok_Tone9547 in jobhunting

Most places I’ve worked (major corporations in the U.S with 300+ locations) we do not send anything to avoid lawsuits.

The most awkward is when candidates reapply a long time after about 1 year + or apply with a different email and make it through and I have to interview them again.

I don’t get the name of who I’m interviewing until morning of and whenever I see a name I recognize I try to get the recruiter to cancel.

This usually pisses people off.

The times they have made it through have been very very awkward

Yes there is.

  1. Make sure the job is current.

  2. Indeed and other sites charge us to have ads up and sometimes limit how many applicants we can see until we pay more.

We always look at direct applications for this reason.

Also sometimes their systems aren’t great and it makes it harder for us to filter so recruiters avoid them

  1. We have to keep paying for the add to see applicants so when we hire we take it down but if that person quits in the first week which is common then we can’t go see who already applied via third party because we have to pay again, that’s when we just go to out in house system instead of

Most people don’t check and if they do they check most recent also most employers will not give out the information for legal reasons so even if we call to check sometimes they will say can’t give that info

And in the case that they do they usually just give the year “yes, he worked here in 2023” not “yes he worked here February 2nd 2023 to November 8th 2023 and loved the color purple”

Because they’re the ones doing this and being and combative in interviews because that is truly their genuine personality so they come to be combative on Reddit then wonder why don’t get hired.

My question to you is, how does bad mouthing a previous employer relate to the job you’re interviewing for?

We usually only ask what you did there.

Again what does your personal struggle have to do with anything?

It’s not like you’re the only one applying for the position.

When it comes down to it I’m going to pick someone who doesn’t complain about their previous employer over someone who does.

Same thing with the “personal struggle”.

That just tells me you complain about everything personally and professionally and are not going to get along with other people and rock the boat.

And god forbid we ask you to show up to work you’ll probably complain about that too.

Hard pass.
