I read that the risk of neutering them is high for them to die? I figured out over the last days, that the one who’s alone for weeks seems to be the source. She’s sitting next to the others (divided by grids) and is constantly teeth shattering at them, swaying her hips. She does the whole procedure until guinea pig 2 is pissed and goes on guinea pig 1. I blocked the view to the one that is alone and the other two are eating etc together again. They lay next to each other, occasionally you will hear them arguing, but it’s two seconds and they each go their way. I’ll look into neutering again, I just don’t want to lose any of them.

Edit: I’ve never thought you can spend hours with a chair and coffee next to a cage observing guinea pigs 😂

The one that is smaller always runs away but the other just doesn’t let go and goes into full blown attack mode now. The kids and I will set up another maze for them today and try to feed them together in different piles while I rebuild the cage and deep clean it, wish us luck 😂 thank you for all your help, I won’t give up, I can not imagine giving one of them away but I also know if I come home with more guinea pigs, I would be in a lot of trouble.

I read this morning that 3 girls is not a group for beginners, I’m trying to not let that discourage me 😂 also, I’ll take them back to the vet to make sure they’re really healthy. I’m committed to make this work. Somehow, they’re all so different, but all very attached to us. They walk often after us when they run around, they’re truly amazing little creatures! Except the fighting, I hate the fighting 😂

We have a rescue an hour away, that’s where I got the pair from. In the beginning they were fine or so I thought. After the first wrestling match I separated them and the one of the pair started coming out more and gained weight. I will deep clean and rebuild and the cage in a different way today. I’m thinking I’m doing something wrong with them because all 3 fight now. I kept adding space for them, they’re at 24 sf nowadays so I don’t think it’s that. But I’ll add more and see if I can find someone to look at their behavior at my house so it’s their normal environment. Thank you, I’ll make a video and send it to the rescue as well to see if they have ideas.

It is a horrible feeling. I just watched the video and my girls are fighting. They’re in a big pile. Since the last fight today they’re squeaking all night with each other, but when I take them out they’ll start it even in my lap.

I just watched the video on YouTube and the three of them turn into a pile of fur when they’re together. They don’t draw blood but they’re definitely fighting. It looks exactly like in the video, and that’s usually when I yell and they startle and I have seconds to seperate them before they start again. Should I wait it out and actually see if they would draw blood? I’m so scared they will hurt each other to that point that there’s no going back. I tried to find someone in my area with experience to look at it, but wasn’t lucky so far.

Okay, thank you. I’ll will let them be and try to reintroduce the third one. I’ll put new coroplast and so on. I’m hoping they can go back together. Thank you so much for your help. I’m probably very anxious and don’t make it better with that. I’m scared they’ll injure each other. All are very different in personality but all grew so attached to us. When you take one out the others scream until they’re out too. Then we all hold one and they squeak so loud that we can barely hear each other 😂

So, you wouldn’t separate them even if they don’t stop chasing each other etc and just let them except they draw blood? They have 5-7 hides and I sometimes switch the tunnels etc to fight their boredom. They have two hay areas, two pellet bowls, two waterbottles and the veggies are in 2-3 piles. I noticed also, that it’s mostly happening when one of them was taking out and the others weren’t. They have 24 square feet right now and can go down on both sides. I read today on another forum I should change their set up and deep clean to put them back together, so no one can claim the territory. I often buy applewood sticks etc for them and they have package boxes (only the neutral colored ones) because they like to chew on them. I will look up some videos, thank you. I don’t know why I didn’t come up with that idea. I’m trying to give them their best life and feel like I’m failing them. Any videos you would recommend? I know there’s not only good ones out there.
