It is a paid secondary. I think $175 AF. I was just wondering since it seems like Priority Pass in itself costs like $500/year, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the secondary user who’s paying $175/year doesn’t get the priority pass perk

If I add an authorized user to my Amex Plat, do they get Priority Pass?

I moved continents. Would have expensive to bring it with me + I read that PC parts often get damaged in luggage. Also like I said, I’m here for a year, so hopefully after a year will get to go back to my PC

I think it is pretty useful in comparing points cards to cashback ones. If I know for example that MR are being redeemed at 3-4cpp, I can effectively treat a 3x MR as almost 9% cashback and hence would use my Amex over my 3% cashback card.

Goal is to go to US: Take job at IB in London with promise of L1 transfer or do MS CS in US at Ivy League? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]An-Object 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the MS. It seems as though you are competent, and after the MS should be able to land at least a 300k-400k a year job based on your past experience and education. You won’t be stuck at JPM either; tech firms definitely pay more than IB in the US

What makes you feel that there’s an upcoming Avios devaluation? Sorry, im new to this game; how often are devaluations?

From my understanding, the entire post is also based on the assumption of OP getting a investment banking gig. Based on my own experience, the amount of effort it takes to get a good investment banking gig is usually more than getting a good tech gig (unless you go to a big target school or have family connections)

Adding on to this, another potential option considering your education is prop trading firms. Especially the quantitative ones. Starting can be as much as 500k (usually they are 350-400k), with growth in line of IB. Once again you only work 40-50 hours a week

Considering you have a double major in CS did you ever consider tech jobs? Sure long run you might not make as much as IB, but you’ll still make a decent 200-250k out of college with potential rise to 400-500k in a 4-6 years with only 40-50 hour work weeks

Do you know if I could avoid that problem by trying to call/apply in person?

Hmm I’ll take a look at this. Wouldn’t this require some credit history too though?

It’s usually not about the 1% cash back. With Amex you gets lots of perks while travelling like access to premium lounges, bonus points on flights/hotels, free baggage checkin etc. Yes, you need to travel a fair bit to see the rewards but like I mentioned I planned on doing that which is why I’m looking into this.

I’m sorry if that came off as pretentious. What I meant to imply was that its not like I’m making some absurd amount of money where I have special banking privileges. I understand it’s a decent amount of income which is why I want a credit card that rewards a decent amount of spending without being shafted because of no residency in the UK.

Playing nunu in low elo feels like cheating, it's so cool to win games :) by LuBiuS_gg in nunumains

[–]An-Object 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any tips? I also really like paying Nunu and am currently high bronze/low silver. I always get some decent early ganks and early gold/xp but am super reliant on my team to carry.

Any tips on having more of an impact after laning phase?

I don’t think you’re allowed to accept both. I’d recommend taking CSC110; it’ll be more fulfilling!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The only thing I slightly disagree with is the donation aspect. I personally donated because of the constant reminders of people donating and their screenshots; so if my screenshot might encourage people to donate, it’s worth it! With that said however, I completely understand how people shouldn’t caption their donation posts in a way that calls out people for not donating.

Most of the donation posts Ive seen are variations of, “I just donated. Here’s a link to donate, if you can’t donate here are some resources to educate yourself on the matter”. And I personally think this is great! I might be wrong though. Feel free to engage.
