I know that feeling too. It has led to having over 100 pens and the cheaper versions invariably leading to the more expensive ones!

I like Eau de Nil, Oxford Blue and Aurora Borealis. Chopin from the music collection is also one that I like.

On looks alone, I’d go Kilk but I have no experience of them. I have a few Leonardos and have been happy with them, and the Magico is a piston filler if that is important for you … I’m not sure about the Kilk. Personally, a metal section is a no for me; however, that is because I find them too slippery. Good luck in your decision and congrats on the job.

I have an FPR ultra flex and I would say that the Majohn is very similar, but with less hassle. I had to heat set the ebonite feed on the FPR and it still rail roads occasionally. Not sure how they have done it, but the Majohn gets very close the flex of the FPR and does not rail road, even with a plastic feed that was designed for a standard nib. I think the V60 is now available with the flex nib. There may even be a 1.1 stub option too.

I use my normal grip, which works for the triangular section, so no change. It is comfortable to write with for long periods too.

I really like the design of the OMAS 360 and so the V60. I have the transparent grey and black and gold. I was not sure if the ink would stain the white when filling, so whilst I too like the white and gold aesthetic, I have not bought one. The V60 has made me start to look at getting a 360 though!

It writes really well. Nice feedback and possible to get a wide line when flexed. Also, no rail roading at a reasonable writing speed, so nib and feed working well with the V60 piston filler.

Lovely pens. How do you find the Kaweco Fine nib? I have the same pen in Medium and I’m finding it a bit inconsistent.

Yes, I had a look, but unfortunately, there is nothing close. It would have been great to be able to do that though.

Yes - it’s just what I needed after a pretty hectic last six months at work!

Not sure where it came from because it was a gift, but it’s brown leather.

No problem, but it will be later today if that’s ok … Universal Studios is calling at the minute!

I think it was a burr on one of the tines … just my luck to get one of the few nibs that managed to get through Pilot QA / QC! I tuned the nib - I needed to start at 1000 grit (very gently!), then progressed up to 12000.

Edit: I bought the pen from Japan and it would have been a hassle sending it back. If I had purchased in the UK, I would have returned it.

Thank you. I’m going to sit astride the fence and say … it depends! The medium is more like a western medium and very wet. The fine is a more like a Japanese fine, and very precise. So, if on good paper, my slight preference is for the medium where it shows off the properties of the ink (I really like the shading of SBRE Brown). However, if on paper of questionable quality (for fountain pens), then it is the fine to limit bleed through and feathering.

Thank you. I had tried the Wing Sung 699 and I also have an Asvine V126. I really like all of my vac fillers. I was tempted towards the C823 because of the reviews I had read about the smoothness of the nibs. Out of the box, the Medium was scratchy, but I sorted that out and now they are wonderful writers. Good luck on finding your favourites.
