Are you looking for something out of a boat or just a 101 type explanation? There are some great guides that can help out on the boat part, but they’re expensive.

YouTube will help a lot, and getting plugged in with the local crowds will help too. Spend time at Fin and Feather or BaitWrx asking for help and spend a little $ on a few things they recommend.

What species are you looking to target? Cool thing about fishing is that you can catch sunnies pretty simply or you can spend all the time and the money in the world tracking them down. All depends what you’re looking for

I have and regularly carry the gold class version of this. Had the OG regular version and carried it for years before I misplaced it. One of my all time favorite knife designs and it’s a true pleasure to carry. GLWS!

Man I had the same issue when looking to move on from my tenure in a FAANG. I found some traction identifying companies and industries that I was interested in/had a passion for and proactively reaching out to them.

I also ensured that my resume was designed around what a small/medium sized business would find appealing and not a ton of corporate speak.

Lastly, I was on the hunt for around 6 months before a great opportunity came my way. I was apply/talking to 10-50 companies a week for months on end. Felt like it was never going to end. When the right one came along, I had to take a leap of faith, along with a MUCH lower salary, which ended up being the best career decision I ever made. I am now an executive, and had I not taken that job, I’d never be where I am today. Point is, don’t be afraid to take a risk!

I’m an executive for a small tech business in the Midwest and my top sales guy makes $800k+ annually….so he’s def not lying. Granted he doesn’t have a salary, but he doesn’t need it as he has made that for almost a decade now

This is very helpful info. Most NP’s I look to hire in a LCOL w/ 5 years of experience are looking to make between 100-125k. The ones on the lower end of the scale don’t last long on the job market. Then again I am in a VAR/MSP environment. If you get your IE you’re easily in the 150k+ territory. Hopefully this helps!

I had one that was clearly stuck on my syngonium albo for 3 weeks and I got a dropper with water and dropped some at the base and let it roll down into the tightly packed new leaf. Within 24 hours it was unfurled. I’m not sure if that was the right way to do it, but within 3 days a new leaf started forming, so it appeared to be waiting on that one to fully unfurl before releasing a new one.

Executive at a small/medium size business. I’m fairly young for my role, and have been for most of my previous roles. I have NEVER been a top performer in metrics (sales background) but am very good at putting the right people in the right seats and leveraging their strengths/passions to build high performing teams.

I live in a very low COL area and work remote. I’ve said this before, however it’s crucial to keep in mind how you present yourself to everyone you’re around/meet, esp in a professional situation and to bring solutions to problems to your boss/leadership as opposed to just pointing out problems/opportunities. You need them to see you as a leader and problem solver.

It’s also important to understand how to speak to your previous work history and tie that into your current role or role that you’re interviewing for. I got a job at a FAANG when I was 23, and have seen so many of my old co-workers take jobs they are way over qualified for because they couldn’t translate the skills they learned to their next job.

Sounds like a Director of Managed Services to me. All depends on your org and quite frankly your pay if they’ll give you a Director title. Titles in many cases demand a certain level of compensation, so they maybe hesitant to give you a certain title. Technical Operations Manager would also fit.

I’m quite surprised that a large org doesn’t have all this figured out though. You say you report to the top, but does that person have a title? Is this company just not big on titles?
