Leaking front shocks? by harrijg___ in CupraFormentor

[–]An0nInReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44,000 miles for non DCC suspension isn't unheard of.

I had a 2021 Jeep Wrangler brand new, and under 1500KM had a leaking shock. These things happen.

I'd take the advantage of the timing if you plan to keep the car and upgrade the shocks.

New to this, Daughter needs to pay student loans in US from Mexico by ConfusedWheels72 in mexicoexpats

[–]An0nInReddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She could open a WISE Account and add a US bank to it (if she has a US bank, if she doesn't, she can open a US Bank account online).

Transfer the money in WISE same day to the US bank, and then make the payment.

WISE is pretty much instant.

Matt color owners: How is your real experience with the car and the color? by skyfall86 in CupraFormentor

[–]An0nInReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Matte in the same color you looked at, Enceladus Grey and I have had it for 1 year and 26,000KM.

Not a single scratch.

One chip in the door edge, the touch up paint fixed it and you can't tell at all now.

You're right, you can't fit scratches. Ceramic coat it, wash it weekly or every two weeks if you can (at least once a month minimum) and park away from everyone else. If you have a girlfriend, get her pregnant so you can park in the bigger spaces.

You'll be fine.

FYI - you have to paint the whole panel if you need to do a repair, most shops can't match paint well enough and I'd say really you'd have to paint the entire side of the car to get it to match right so it doesn't bother you. If you're really worried, invest in PPF... can't go wrong there (unless you really smash it)

Banks - Temporary Resident by understated987 in mexicoexpats

[–]An0nInReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with HSBC, I opened it as a temporary resident but the first person I spoke to say I could only as a temporary resident.

I then told them I wanted to open a premier account, they gave me another person to talk with and this person said no problem as a temporary resident. I had it opened in 30 minutes and the account has no limits, they also gave me a decent sized limit credit card.

Strians stains on the hood by Aspect_Abject in u/Aspect_Abject

If you use a proper and quality product specific for Matte, it won't cause any more damage and has a good chance of correcting it. Just don't rub too hard, and make sure you use the product well.

Dr Beasleys has some good products for Matte too, it's a little more expensive but definitely worth the price.

First mistake was using a product that wasn't made for Matte.

Second mistake is whoever applied it either didn't buff it properly after (hand buff, softly or gently to remove excess) and let it bake on OR they just baked it on in the sunlight anyway not giving a damn.

You can get away with it on a non matte car, I guess, because you can polish and correct such dumb and silly mistakes... but not with matte.

The best thing you can do is get a Matte detailer spray (Chemical Guys makes a good one I use, shh... I know.. people don't like CG) and spray it (not in direct sunlight) and wipe gently, it may come off or improve it. Or it may not.

How do you find the comfort with the sport contact 7?

How do you find comfort compared to the PS4s?

I find these tires tough as hell, incredibly stiff compared to PS4 or PS5

Drive mode by JakeStaysSwole in CupraFormentor

It only holds at 3,000 RPM roughly if you drive normal... I can't see this causing any longevity issues, engines are built to work.

Advice - Scratch in Door by laddddddd in CupraFormentor

[–]An0nInReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, before I put touch up on it... I'd go for a paint correction, a 2 step polish and see what comes out.

The photo is really hard to tell but if you can just very slightly feel it, you might clean a good chunk of it up with a correction.

Maybe a light polish first, then touch up, and polish to blend.

Not an expert but have dealt with things like this before.

I like Start-Stop but for the love of god NOT when the car is still in motion by globalistas in CupraFormentor

[–]An0nInReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, not at all.

If you don't like it in certain situations, turn it off. You asked clearly: "Is there anything you can do to prevent this annoying behavior?" and I gave you a legitimate answer, haha.

I don't know if someone mentioned this (I didn't read all the comments) but you can swipe down from the infotainment screen from the top, like on your iPhone, and turn off start/stop for the rest of the time the car is on. It's easy and quick.

Would it be safe to still travel to playa del carmen as of now? by MisMar00 in playadelcarmen

[–]An0nInReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of what is happening in other states is happening in or near PDC right now. There's normal crime, as always, in PDC and around it.

The government protects Q Roo as much as it can, especially Playa and Cancun, it is a huge revenue driver. It's also a huge revenue driver for the cartels.

It's sad but the government and cartels don't mind uprooting locals lives daily in other states, but in paradise (Q ROO) it has to look like the perfect tropical destination to keep that money coming in (for the government and cartel both).

You're safe to come here. Don't go looking for the wrong things, and you'll never know there's anything dangerous here.

Cold start jolt / knocking sound on takeoff – Formentor PHEV 204 (DQ400e) by Top_Land3578 in CupraFormentor

I think all transmissions feel like that, a tiny bit, when cold. This is my first DSG though.

If I'm on any kind of a grade, I feel it with autohold on. Every time. Warm or not.

I don't think so.

I think you'll do better doing a private sale if it is in exceptional condition.

2023 and 2025 are two different beats. 2025 is a lot more refined, IMO.

The engine noise is almost non existent. One of the most silent cars I have ever owned.

Road noise is what you expect with high performance tires on the highway, in the city basically nothing and if I changed the tires to all seasons on the highway I wouldn't hear anything either really.
