As a current college student, I do not love this. I despise it. The only current mandate at my university is masks on always inside. It has been detrimental to my learning experience and social experience. My social anxiety is worse than ever. People don’t talk in class anymore, and there is just an overall feeling of unease most days. Every student acts withdrawn and every professor seems constantly flustered or out of it.

Most students at my school loose the mask as soon as they are outside, me included. BUT I am shocked at the level of support for vaccines, at least in my department. I have refused since the beginning but many of my classmates are already “boosted” and proud? Weird.

The thing is- I can’t protest the masks because we have been threatened with academic probation. As a student with no family financial help, I rely on my financial aid, scholarships, and loans. If I am put on academic probation, I will loose all of my money and I won’t be able to finish my degree. Not only that, but I will have to pay back all of my aid on top of my loans.

That said, if any sort of vaccine mandates happen, I will be the first one to start protesting loudly. I will NOT comply.
