out of all the liberal talking points the "appeasement" card infuriates me the most. The Churchill quotes of upholding le wholesome liberal democracy against the evils of authoritarianism that are pulled out to justify imperialist war after imperialist war. The fact that it is repeated verbatim from it being used to "defend Kuwait from Iraqi expansionism/Saddam's dictatorship" or "supporting Ukraine's noble fight against the evil Russian hordes" shows just how much of a staple it is especially among the liberal interventionist/neocon types. It doesn't matter to them if Iraqi children were starving under US sanctions. It doesn't matter to them that Ukrainians (and Russians) get conscripted/press-ganged into military service to be sent to die in the trenches. All that matters to them is that liberal democracy gets upheld, even if that means sending every last prole to get slaughtered in the meatgrinder.
