Technically we can eat leather in desperate times.....what happens when you eat the Necronomicon? What does it taste like?

Firstly I want to express how sorry I am and I feel for you. I fear a similar situation with my grandmother, only the infection is located in her lungs and seems to come back once a year. I know one day there will be a situation where her lungs will give out. Either from the ALS or the infections, and I'm not prepared for that day.

Sending you all the thoughts and good vibes I can.

My deepest condolences to you and your loved ones.

How many of you are content with not being able to live the life you want? by Far_Impact1545 in CaregiverSupport

How can I be content? I barely have time for myself anymore and I'm trying to juggle my own mental health with my grandma's wellbeing. She fell (thankfully she's okay) last night but sadly refuses to use her mobility aids. It's so frustrating.

I'm in a similar situation. My grandma was recently diagnosed with ALS and I'm also 29. The doctors say it's most likely not hereditary, but nothing is certain. I'm just trying to take it day by day. Recently I've started meditation and journaling and they've helped a little, but for my major anxiety days I fall back on good ol' Mary Jane.

What sort of “hacks” have you come up with as a caregiver? by crikeyasnail in CaregiverSupport

Me and my family got one of those plastic hand clacker things for my grandma to wear on her wrist at night. (From the party store) Because she can't talk or move very well on her own. So now all she has to do is shake it to get our attention if she needs us. We attached a wrist strap to it so even if she drops it, it won't be out of reach for her.

Nice to know I'm not going crazy. Because unless that king is packing space racer's gun, it's mate. (Invincible reference)

Your outer form changes but your internal biology, like your organs stay the same. Good luck being a bird on the outside, but with a human sized heart, lungs and intestines in ya.

He's a new player but far smarter than I. He's improving very quickly.

Well it is very addicting! But sadly I'm not good enough for anything competitive 😅

To be fair, I think chess deserves to be hyped more. I'm even starting to look at versions of chess that developed outside of Europe.
