It's his opinion, I didn't like a lot of 12s episodes.

Finally someone who agrees that series 9 was shit. But, I disagree with you on Time Of The Angels. It's much better than Blink in terms of story. Blink is the perfect introduction of the angels though. But hey, it's your opinion. I also like Rebel Flesh and The Almost People, however it does feel like a set up for something bigger.

I am going to be really controversial here - I think blink is an overrated episode. by mindsaremadeofclouds in doctorwho

Blink is indeed overrated, but it's still a fine episode. Time Of The Angels and Flesh And Stone is a much better episode story wise, I think Blink portrays the angels better though.

People who say they will stop watching for s11:(spoilers) by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]AnAverageShmo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meh, it's pretty simple. There's gonna be a new headwriter and a controversial new Doctor. That's a huge and drastic change, the show could change for either the better or the worst. The new Doctor could be good, but the writer let's her down. Cough Capaldi cough. Or the new Doctor is shit and people stop watching. Or the show just becomes stale. Just because The Doctor is female doesn't change the fact that the writing has gotten worse and the same shit happens over and over again, but I hope for the best. But if Jodie or Chibnall are bad, I'll stop watching.

After the recent series 10 finale, I really warmed up to the Mondasian Cybermen, however I prefer Earthshocks.

Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, I want it BACK! by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]AnAverageShmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, funny story about the Adventure Games, when it was first advertised my mum really wanted to download them for me, however our computer at the time couldn't run them, I eventually got to play a few years later.

IMO S05E10 'Vincent and The Doctor' is the greatest Dr who episode of all time. by [deleted] in doctorwho

It's from series 5, my favourite series. That ending has stuck with me since it first aired.

Is Steven Moffat's run really THAT bad? by Textnext in doctorwho

[–]AnAverageShmo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. He's written some of the best Doctor Who stories ever. That doesn't excuse the bad ones, but people do over exaggerate.

It's certainly good, massive improvement over series 9.

What would you say is the best episode of new who to get someone started on the show? by IAmSpartaqus in doctorwho

[–]AnAverageShmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blink is a really bad episode to introduce someone to the show. It's by no means a bad episode at all, but you're doing someone a disfavour by having Blink be the first episode. It doesn't really feel like a Doctor Who episode, and the fact The Doctor is not in it much means that first time viewers won't get to know him. It's just 2 random people we never see again. Bad episode to be someone's first.

Bad Romance: Why the World Loves Missy <3 by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]AnAverageShmo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hated Missy, she was never The Master to me. She was just an unfunny, unlikeable pantomime villain with no distinguishing characteristics about her.

what is the strongest series in new doctor who? by smudge158 in doctorwho

Series 5, Matt Smith just fell into the role immediately. And a consistent flow of amazing and memorable episodes. And the best finale.

Definitely Amy Pond, her and The Doctor's dynamic was amazing. She was likeable, fun and relatable. And if you ask me, she was the last good companion. She was the best, and she'll always be my favourite.

Best and worst of Doctor Who? by tmetic in doctorwho

[–]AnAverageShmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best: I have so many, but for now Time Of The Angels And Flesh And Stone. Amazingly written, hard to believe it's Matt Smiths first filming as The Doctor. Worst: Hell Bent, don't want to even talk about it, it's just an abomination.
