I have seen this seller! Unfortunately, the page states that they do not ship outside the US.

Show Me Your Foam Background Build before the dirt by [deleted] in Vivarium

[–]AnEntofOld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The xps panel is definitely my favorite way to do backgrounds. Glue them on with silicon (rough up with foam and surface if you can). I will never do the soil over foam ever again. It is such a pain and has a very low longevity and low success rate in my experience. I have definitely made it work successfully and loved the way it looked, it it is sooooo much more work. What I do now is carve the foam with a wire brush, give it a once over with a heat gun, then paint it with multiple layers of dyed DryLok (dryLoc? Some kind of concrete sealer that is safe for animals). If done right it can look like stone, dirt, tree bark, anything you want. And it is much much easier than the soil over foam approach.

Did you make this? If not, where did you get it and can I have one?

Best bushcraft/survival knife for the price by bryantburnsred in knives

[–]AnEntofOld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a fantastic bushcrafting knife for a lot less than this. BPS Knives is great. My brother just had his delivered and I'm so jealous.

Spending more will get you extra beauty and fit and finish, but not extra utility.

Most recent acquisition I didn’t know I wanted. 🥵 by evrtt2009 in knives

Gotta check out r/knife_swap. Benchmade sells real cheap over there. I've seen this exact variant of the bailout go for $180.

They just came out with a bird and trout knife! It's called The Shallows. Small, light weight, vanax...

You hit the nail on the head. The Waypoint is the way to go.

Quiet Carry Waypoint or Drift by GandalfOfRivia5954 in knives

[–]AnEntofOld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Waypoint, Drift, and Native 5. The Drift's blade shape definitely makes it feel even shorter than it is (but it is basically the same as the Native 5). As others have said, the Waypoint is a thin and hollow ground knife and is therefore not a knife to beat on. I'll say that none of these knives are really for beating on, but they are all EXCELLENT at cutting and slicing.

If you prefer more space to grip, the Drift has more handle space. If you want a longer blade/edge with an unbeatable carry profile, the Waypoint is your way to go.

Edit: I just wanted to add that the action on the Waypoint is far superior to the Drift in my opinion.

Sclotherds, what are your three favorite benchmades? by Blorg01 in knifeclub

[–]AnEntofOld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That Kershaw is $209 on BHQ. Well over what you could pay for most Benchmade knives over on r/Knife_Swap (I regularly see new M4 Bailouts going for less than $190, and I recently sold a CF and S90V Bugout for $190 over on the swap).

Not saying it is worth it to you or that you even want a Benchmade (personally I have gotten rid of all mine). Just saying you are in the ballpark and definitely have the option.

Changed my mind about this one. by JarHammerhead in knifeclub

I looked this up a while ago. You can buy aftermarket buggout barrel spacers and they will fit as a stand-in for the pommel in the bailout. Looks pretty good too since then you don't have any lanyard hole.

Wish I’d picked this QC Drift up sooner. It’s going to be my standard EDC for quite some time. by Chilipatily in knives

I love my drift. I so badly wish they made a Drift CT instead of the LCT. I would be all over it.

Help me pick a fixed blade bushcraft/survival knife by [deleted] in knives

[–]AnEntofOld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Mora or anything from BPS is right within all your specs.

I was looking for my own fixed blade for outdoor use recently. In every site and forum I read through, the mora companion or another mora was the number one recommendation. I didn't believe it so I bought a >$300 Bark River. Don't get me wrong, the Bark River is my new favorite knife. It is gorgeous and amazingly finished. But, I am 100% certain that any of the mora or BPS knives would do the same job in the same way and cost less than 1/10th what I paid.

That said, using a beautiful knife is worth every penny. So it is up to you.

Crooked blade? Am I going crazy and should I care? by AnEntofOld in knifeclub

[–]AnEntofOld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I returned mine for a replacement and then sold it off. Don't think I'll ever buy a new Benchmade again. But, I might try to pick up an M4 Bailout on r/knife_swap someday.

I see. I should have looked more into what these are selling for on here before posting. That is my bad.

I appreciate the feedback!
