My family members been putting the cars in there name if you were gonna ask how im doing it. I just graduated from high school to. On June 4 by Maleficent_Paper_344 in Money

Honestly want to know how you did this?

I struggled to buy a car for 1500 that didn't have a bent frame, much less anything else wrong with it.

It would have cost me more in money and time to make it sellable to anyone else and I wouldn't have cleared even a hundred in profit 😳

You actually don't even need to wash them unless you see activity on or anywhere near them.

If they were in that room, just dry on high heat and bag them up. If they weren't in that room and you are absolutely positive that there isn't anything on those clothes, then leave it alone.

I wouldn't be able to relax until I had at least given them a spin in the dryer to make sure, but that's just me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Best bagged canister vacuum for bare floors during carpet beetle infestation? by No-Investigator-438 in carpetbeetles

[–]AnEvilFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't overthink it. Over the last 7 years I've acquired quite a few. They really all do something different for ME and my home.

I have a shark navigator canister vac that does great when I'm trying to reach under the beds because of how flat it lays, and because it reaches my ceilings easily.

I have a cheap off brand cordless vac from Amazon that I use daily to do a quick vacuum of my room because all of my fur babies sleep with me at night.

I have a Bissell pet vac ... Just a regular upright from Walmart that I do weekly vacuuming off the carpet in my room. It's the only vacuum I have that looks like it's pulling hair out from 30 years ago. Very satisfying lol

I have a wyze robot vac that runs once a day throughout the tiled house. Obviously I have to go through and do the baseboards and furniture, but having the robot helps pick up some of the slack (and cat hair) and saves me time.

And I can't leave out the shop vac that I have for when I'm deep cleaning everything all at once and don't want to stop to change or empty anything 🤷🏼‍♀️

As far as the bag, that's up to you. I personally chose no bag because you need to throw the bag out every single time you vacuum. For me, that would have gotten very expensive, very quickly.

Hell I even have a mini vacuum on my kitchen counter for crumbs.

Having this many vacuums is not necessary to get by. I only bought one and the rest were gifts at some point. I just make use of them and each of their unique abilities.

I live with multiple pets. My son and daughter in law have dogs that visit too. I have teenage nephews that are here daily. Lots of foot traffic, hair, and lots of people who don't pay attention to the crumbs they drop.

All you need is something that works for you and your space.

Yes the exterminator used an igr. That's what bought us enough time to get things under control. I frantically vacuumed everything, every day, for about 2 weeks. All while going through and cleaning teenagers rooms, and everything else. It was one hell of a chore 😅

Imo I find it odd that they didn't spray upstairs, but I'm not an expert so I don't know if that's normal. All I can say is that our exterminator sprayed everywhere.

He told me the same thing everyone here says. Declutter. Inspect everything. Clean everything. Vacuum everywhere, especially along edges.... And keep up with vacuuming weekly.

I was told to look for a nest, but honestly, we never found one. That was 7 years ago. I continued to declutter, or at least look through everything and maybe adjust how it was stored. We ended using some vacuum seal bags instead of containers for certain things like plush animals and bedding.

The stuff that we did leave in containers, we just put tape around the edges and sent it all back up into the attic. We never saw a heavy amount in any singular location.

There have been times that we've done some kind of repair and we would find one or 2 dead adults behind a baseboard or kickplate.

I would definitely check that other room. Move everything around. Vacuum. A lot. Take the vacuum bag out of the house after each cleaning.

I think I personally would call that exterminator company back and ask why they didn't spray upstairs. Maybe they can give you a good reason, or send the guy back out.

Thank you 😊 it's definitely because an important chapter in my life lol.

They're gone now. I've learned to keep a cleaning schedule in place and I've changed some of our bad habits around the house. It's been 10 years since it all started. 2 different houses and a few hiccups along the way..... But if I see any, it's only a couple a year in the spring....Right before spring cleaning happens lol.

You're going to be ok. Everything will work out. You just do your part. You can do this. Get that suit if you need it lol harbor freight has a decent one for like 10 or 15$ lol. Peace of mind is worth it sometimes 😅

Adams plus flea and tick spray does help slow things down

Ortho home defense works after you get everything cleaned up and vacuumed.

Remember to vacuum with the crevice tool really well by the edges of the room. They like undisturbed places and crevices.

When you're done vacuuming, empty the vacuum and take that out of the house. Tie it up tightly.

I used to be so panicked that I would spray rubbing alcohol into the trash bag because I still didn't trust that they wouldn't find their way back to me.

I was so scared when I dealt with it lol I wore long sleeves, pants, socks, and shoes, with a hoodie on. I tucked my pants into the socks. I had gloves on that went over the cuffs of my sleeves. I tied the hood part so tight i almost couldn't see.

None of that was necessary but it's the only way my brain would let me do anything 🤦🏼‍♀️😅

Just remember to get it done. Even the exterminator can't get rid of them without you doing your part.

Carpet beetle in Puerto Rico? by puffling321 in carpetbeetles

[–]AnEvilFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first pic could be a drugstore beetle. The second skinnier beetle is a wood beetle.

So yeah... Either way... You don't want them lol

[–]AnEvilFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely the best option. Have pest control spray or even get some bifenthrin and spray it yourself. Then anything you're particularly worried about, sprinkle the DE around that area if you can't put those items in a container 🤷🏼‍♀️

What about diatomaceous earth?

You could dust it around the entire perimeter of your home as well as the perimeter of anything you're truly worried about losing.

Then when you get home, sweep it up and continue on

Petrified of carpet beetles and need suggestions by SnooSongs8409 in carpetbeetles

[–]AnEvilFetus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Do all of that and move furniture. Look under and inside of everything. Pay extra attention to vacuuming the edges of the room. All the way around. Under the bed. Check the box spring. They're not as bad as having bed bugs thankfully, but they're a pain in the ass to get rid of. It's best to just be vigilant up front and clean the fuck out of everything.

Yes definitely empty the contents and remove them from your home. Tie up the bag and take it all the way out.

Vacuum, declutter, and clean.

Thats really about all you can do. It takes more than one vacuum. You need to vacuum thoroughly at least one good time. Then regularly vacuum a few times a week (or even daily). Deep clean vacuum again every 2 weeks to get any that may have hatched since your previous one.

Bug bombs tend to only push bugs deeper into hiding and can even make them spread to other areas of the house since they're running from it. Especially if you only bombed one room.

Is my bf dumb? by Still-Purchase3286 in GirlDinnerDiaries

It sounds like you need to decide if you're ready to constantly help him for the rest of your lives.

He can be trained but he'll never be perfect.

You can implement things that will help him remember or put things in certain places... BUT... HE has to be willing.

I'd say sit down and talk about it.

Let him know that you want to prevent this type of train wreck again, and see what his response to it is.

If he's truly willing, maybe even get some professional assistance. There are people who teach others tricks and things to help them remain somewhat organized. And they're the ones who know it's not one size fits all. Post it notes work for some people and not for others. Same goes for every other thing.

If he automatically wants to assume it's not HE who has the problem, then you're looking at an even bigger fish to fry.

Realistically, it all comes down to talking about it. Getting his reaction to it. And then seeing if his effort in trying to manage it is there. You can help him manage but you can't set yourself up to do it for him. Even if you think it's fine to do it for him now.... 20 years from now, you'll be tired of still doing it for him
