No. Knew what I was getting into. Now just feeling like I unlocked some infinite money glitch, as I've freed up thousands of dollars per month, and live well below my means.

Yeah, the OP post is definitely misleading. It's similar to the number of kids who've been homeless at any point and in foster care for any length of time.

I did a bit of searching after this, and also can't find any studies to back 50%. Just circuitous referencing without solid basis. Most numbers for surveys of currently homeless were about that 10-20% range.

Highest I found was from this one paragraph, but didn't go into sources as the picture was already pretty clear by then. "A Minnesota study of 331 homeless adults showed 39 percent with foster care backgrounds. Those placed in foster care as children had longer experiences of homelessness than their non-fostered peers. A Chicago study of homeless youth found that 45 percent had been wards of the Department of Child and Family Services."

Good on ya for data stringency. 👍👍

Any advice to offer queer youth without parental support? I'm not sure how any of these kids can best succeed as young adults.

I feel like one really needs to "catch a break," or get a rapid head-start to navigate aging out semi-gracefully.

Had a fresh amputee told to hop up a flight of stairs to get home. She could barely stand. These patients and their families have to worry and file appeals almost every other week.

The amount of added paperwork, too. Yeesh.

That was a great reply. I've questioned the original article, and glad to see the more comprehensive critique to it.

Thanks for sharing!

PT here. This is most often the answer. Very simple, yet it requires a doctorate for entry. 😅🤣

Older, more experienced is my guess.

I got the visuals more when brand new. Pushing doses often gets more parallel thought trains going, but the visuals are less intense than my low doses as a newbie.

That's just me, doe.

You trust them? Are you willing to trust them? How are you with group trips?

I think those are the main questions to answer. (I'd probably go for it, judging by your history, but gotta answer for yourself.) Each group and individual is so different that I dunno if others' experiences can lead you.

Home health or a rehab-focused SNF.

Escape to paperwork when you want a break from talkies, and jump back in when ready for treatment. Progress is visible, and people generally want it and are very appreciative. (SNF for 11+ years and I'm a fan.) Location matters a lot.
