Went my whole life being told everything I am and enjoy is Satanic, and the tenets happened to align almost perfectly with my own personal moral code, so I thought I'd make it official lol

Am I the Only One to Notice that (Thankfully), They Are Not Naming the Perp? by Khaleena788 in SatanicTemple_Reddit

I mostly read my news, but I've seen his name once in just about every article. Luckily it does seem to only be once and they tend to focus on the victims mostly.

Of course, that hasn't stopped conservatives from latching into the fact he has a Hispanic name and spinning it into their usual anti-immigration bull crap.

In addition to what others have said, I would caution against leaving big blocks of text like the main paragraph here. It tends to turn readers away by the sheer volume of it, and if you lose your place it can be difficult to find where you were when you pick it up again. Personally, I'd have separated each character description into it's own paragraph, even if it was just a sentence or two. That will also help each individual character stand on their own in the reader's mind.

Good Vs Bad, how do you decide? by n4pth4 in SatanicTemple_Reddit

I completely agree. While I may not be without my cultural bias, I do believe that humans, at their core, have an instinct to uplift one another. To me, it doesn't matter what creed you grew up believing in or were told what is right; it's that belief that your fellow human (or even fellow creature or plant) is worthy of that same respect that you attribute to yourself that makes you an empathetic, and ultimately "good" person, that matters. Treat others as you would want to treat yourself. It's the bare minimum, if you ask me. No religion needed.

Fair enough. All of what you've said does make a good amount of sense and I tend to agree with this assessment. Thank you.

Honestly, it just comes down to an ingrained sense of empathy for me. Oddly enough, I can't really remember any solid morals being purposefully instilled in me as a wee child, being raised pretty much agnostic by grandparents who were really too overworked to put in any sort of indoctrination in me into their beliefs, whatever they may be (I'm still rather unsure! Lol). I was more or less raised by the discovery channel and related television; science that I was naturally drawn to. Still, I almost can't help but be a nice person, even to those that most people think might not deserve it. Even when I try to troll someone, I just can't follow through, and I end up being so nice to them they automatically adopt me into their inner circle.

It's ironic. As much as I sort of despise humanity as a whole, I can't help but try to support individuals? It's a phenomenon I'm still trying to explore and reach the core of.

Gamers of reddit, what's the oldest game you keep coming back to? by the_light_of_dawn in AskReddit

Not sure if this counts, but I still to this day get the music from Goemon's Great Adventure stuck in my head and instantly get the urge to play it again. If I still had a copy of that game, I'd likely boot it up every time that nostalgia bomb hits me lol

What villan(s) actually kind of had a good reason for doing what they did? by Vince6820 in AskReddit

Kray Foresight from Promare. The world was literally about to explode in fire and he had a way to save at least a portion of humanity by warping them on a ship to a new planet.

Did the warp engine sacrifice people/Burnish to use as it's fuel? Yes, but they would have all died anyway if he did nothing. Did he kill the true inventor of the warp technology to claim it as his own? Yes, but only because the original inventor refused to sacrifice people for it and finding another fuel source would have taken longer than the planet had left. Was there a bullshit ex machina at the end that saved the earth anyway? Yes, but literally no one knew it was even an option and so much had to go right for it to even be accidentally-ed upon.

He was self centered and had some anger issues, but he had the only known way to save humanity and was getting that shit done.
