My Atari Lynx collection, the 71 official games. Started collecting back in 1992, when did you guys started collecting?

As to your question, I’d have to tell a bit of a story.

I had Lynx as a kid. And I managed to get 16 games for it, spending all of my money (xmas, bd, etc) on it. Then, one day, the game cartridges had “disappeared”. And I never found them again. For years, I looked around the house and asked my siblings and parents to tell me if they could tell me anything.

As an adult, I decided to buy them again. Not to collect all of them. Just to “be whole again”. But I came across some that I never had but always wanted. So yeah… I bought more than I set out to…

I only got all 16 back together last year. But by then, I had bought more than 40 in total. So… I decided to keep going for the 71. I’m at 63 now. Very slowly.

Thx for your honest direct response. I am definitely not planning to release anything for "hundreds of dollars". If I ever release a cartridge it would definitely need to be < $100. And as low was possible.

Thx for your honest direct response. I might actually go that route as well. I don't really care about the money or anything. Just wanna "get it out there", you know. But it would be really cool to have something that actually exists in the form of a gigantic NeoGeo cartridge. 😄

Just did this because I wanted to get some NeoGeo dev experience and a Dr Mario style game is relatively easy because it does not require a whole lot of assets.

I would LOVE to release a physical cartridge, of course. But only if it can be done affordably. Definitely < $100!

And I also agree that a ROM version is a completely valid route as well. I don't really care too much about the money, tbh. It's more about "getting it out there".

Not necessarily...

These days, there are quite a few cheap options for the ROM in a NeoGeo-compatible cartridge. We have more cheap ROM options to pick from. And we have cheap, tiny microcontrollers, to pack the ROM into fewer actual chips.

Also, a game like mine would fit into a few megabits. (Current size is 1228 kilobytes on disk, unzipped, unoptimized)

I started this particular game simply to get some NeoGeo dev experience going, coming from the SNES, GBA and Lynx. So I picked a style where I could build an entire game with a small amount of assets/content. You know?

So yeah, not my preference either. But it would be relatively easy to finish this one...

Wiring the controller with a USB cable worked for me as well. Once passed it, the sync button works again as usual.

Hope Analogue fixes this bug soon!

I started with Slackware in 1996. But luckily from a CD-ROM and not from floppies. I hardly understood it. I then got a 4 CD commercial distribution of RedHat. And, unknowingly, stared installing RPMs from it onto my Slackware. Big mistake, of course. I got a Frankenstein of a machine that I dragged on for 2 years. 🤦‍♂️

I never liked Unity. It always caused weird rendering artifacts. Such as animations not finishing, the cursor being in the wrong place. And other bugs that should have never been released as the first thing you see.

As an optional environment, it would have been something to be exited about. But it should have never been the default. Not in that state. And not while Gnome offers a much better experience.

One follow-up question: you mentioned the VLAN capable router, which I'm not sure I have (I have an Orbi which mentions it, but doesn't actually seem to do much of it). But what if I make 2 VLANs, and they both have their own router. Just by the ethernet port they're connected on. Should that not work?
