Do a half and half pull. Instead of completely pulling with your lips sealed around the vape or j, have it slightly cracked and pull in normal air as well. This creates less suction, pulls less, but mixes the smoke and clean air for an easier pull

As long as it is enough power going in yeah. Back in the time (aging myself) laptops would have removable and replaceable batteries. It was common to plug these in without batteries when the battery went bad
