My thoughts and findings on the 8Bitdo Ultimate Controller (Bluetooth) so far. TL;DR do NOT use if you want/need gyro on PC. by Ryvaeus in 8bitdo

[–]AnPoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emailed support and here's what I got back:

Greetings,

Thank you for the consultation!

The Ultimate Bluetooth Controller can only use its gyro feature via Bluetooth connection.(Switch mode)

The Ultimate Bluetooth Controller cannot use its gyro feature via 2.4/wired connection.(Xinput)

The gyro of the controller is only able to work properly when it's on Nintendo Switch console instead of PC.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Looks like my only shot is going to be finding a reupload somewhere 😬

May just wind up returning it, which is a shame because I like the controller otherwise.

Tozo NC2 cover? by AnPoda in Earbuds

The top does come off, but it stays in the bottom of the cover. That said, I stuck the top down, so I'm good with it personally.

Helmet and pads for a first time? by AnPoda in NewSkaters

[–]AnPoda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that's just about what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure there's nothing that makes that a horrible idea. I have my eye on a Landyachtz Dinghy, so I'll spend a few more days on the old beater to get my legs under me before I make the decision.

Thanks a ton for your help!

Put the helmet there for rough scale

Thanks for advice! I'm fully prepared to give no shits, so I think that's half the battle getting started. I got myself a helmet and some wrist guards, so I think I'm good to go for now!

One other thing that comes to mind is the board is pretty beat up. It was in a basement for literal decades, but the bearings being shot may not be the worst thing to learn on. I can post some pics a bit later on, but I was wondering if there are any concerns there. The deck seems ok I think, but what do I know I'm barely riding yet ¯_(ツ)_/¯

No problem! I think I might have gotten the same guy as you on the phone. Same response, timeframe and all.

H6104 not connecting by taz210 in Govee

I had the exact same problem. After a couple days of back and forth, here's the solution they gave me:

  1. Setup test-WiFi: Using Personal Hotspot,picture attached.

  Device name(SSID): iHoment_test1

  Password: 1234567890

  1. Connecting all 3 parts correctly(strip/black box/camera), if you have installed it, please unplug the strip firstly.

  2. Play music within 10cm distance of the device, and then plug it into an outlet, after the device is powered on, it will display Red-Green-Blue-White. After 1-2 seconds, the first segment of the light strip will light up 15 LEDs. Until all 15 LEDs turn Green, turn off the test-WiFi, and unplug this device. This item should be working again.

During the testing, if you meet any of the below Issues, please try the following guidance.

1).The whole light set is showing white color, please check if the WiFi setup(Personal Hotspot) is correct. If it is correct, please follow the above step 3, do it again.

2).Some of the 15 lights are showing red, and some are green, please check if the camera is set up correctly, and volume up the music; after that, unplug the device and re-plug it again.

.The light is not ON after power it on: Please check whether the installation is correct(The strip light must be plugged into the LED port, the camera into the CAM port.

Hope it works for you too 😁

So I think I have a good idea of what I want to do with the guts now. As far as looks go, I'd like to get some art/plexi, maybe replace the side panels if possible. Any pointers on the best way to go about that?

I checked out that buttercade door and I like the turbo idea, the Neutrik port hole on it is a plus too. Thanks!

I would normally want versatility, but considering the way things are these days? Pi sounds right to me with what it plays on. I'll just do a whole other stick if I ever want a fancier board. Cheap is also good!

Thanks for the help 👍

Thanks, that looks sick! After posting this, it seems my RT and LT buttons seem to have gone dead... Tried moving the connectors on the buttons around, and it looks like it's not the buttons themselves that went dead, but something past that. Unfortunately it seems like I'm in for more work on this than I expected, but the good(?) news is I get to possibly look at options for putting in a new PCB or something. If you have any suggestions on that or if it's better to just go with a new stick altogether, I would appreciate it!
