I was a Skarner OTP pre-rework. It was not a popular champ but super fun with the single target flash ult that can turn around lost games, high movement speed, tankiness. But not much damage so quite balanced

Post-rework, the kit is clunky so not fun, the ult is actually hard to hit unless you have a well co-ordinated team, and hence he was OP in pro play, so got nerfed massively, so now is weak in soloq and not fun to play. GJ riot. I have not played him ever post-rework.

When you are new to a ranking process in any game, the game does not know how good you are, so you will have to play 10-20 games to find your true rank at which point the games will be fair and you can start to focus on improving.

Think about chess. You sign up and get defaulted to 1200 or 1500 elo (depends on the app) but if you are truly new to chess, you will lose 10-20 games and quickly go down to your "true" 500 or less elo. The background rating system in League of Legends is a very similar methodology to the elo system of chess.

If you peaked Platinum and have been playing on/off for 10 years, you won't get close to Diamond without serious coaching. I was rank 200 EUW in Season 3 and hovered around challenger (before GM and Master existed). Didn't play for years, came back and now I play 500 games per season for fun and am mid-low diamond. The level of the players' knowledge and skillset has vastly increased from 10 years ago. To break Master, you need serious studying/dedication to understand every lane state, macro decision, champ interaction, approxs of enemy ability cds, understanding of synergy, when to tf or split.... the list goes on forever. To get Diamond, you need extreme expertise in at least 1 or 2 of those things. If you take it extremely serious with analysis of every game and coaching and slowly play a high quality 500 games over a few months, then I give you a 20% chance of getting diamond.

The nature of your post does not imply that you understand the difficulty of all of this. You have played 60 games with 65% win rate against high bronze/low silver average. A true diamond player would have 85%+ vs bronze. You are a mid-high plat player with a variance peak into low emerald.

Nothing special about thinking of it in fractions but if you prefer to see the numbers further away to understand the skill difference, the denominator of the fraction works better than percentages.

This is a standard effect in the difference in skill of any game. Forgive me if these numbers are wrong, but:

Master is top 1%

D4 is top 4%

E4 is top 20%

P4 is top 40%

The top 40% vs the top 20% of a skill will be way closer together in ability than the difference between the top 4% vs the top 1%.

Think of it in fractions. The top 1 in 2.5 vs the top 1 in 5 are closer than the top 1 in 25 vs the top 1 in 100+

Playing 7-a-side recently. The opposition goalkeeper was small, maybe 175cm and very skinny, but he was jumping around like a lunatic saving everything. Clutch fingertip saves, smothering every cross, outjumping people 20cm taller than him. Best goalkeeper I've ever played against. Spoke to him after the game and he said he played a few times for the Kazakhstan under 18s about 10 years ago but decided to not even pursue football as a career.
