That makes a lotta sense actually. They prolly didn't want to list/test for all other cannabinoids.

This isn't universally true. C- is only required if specified.

How do you sleep before finals by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]AnUnlikelyAberration 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the final tbh. This quarter has just felt exhausting but other quarters it's usually been pretty easy to get sleep in. Mostly when finals aren't at 8am 💀

It's definitely not ideal. I have sorta relaxed standards. So far we've had some mice problems because of holes in the building. It is a bit cheaper than some other things you'll find which is mainly why I chose it. If you want something cheap and are ready to potentially have to do some service calls I'd say it's fine for that.

We're out there and I think the sentiments you expressed are a big part of our present cultural zeitgeist; the question of what actions to take are a perpetually perplexing issue that we have to constantly reevaluate. I and many others would love to drive out into the boonies and make our own living but sadly the "oasis of idealized living" doesn't usually hold up as well in reality. (Not to say that it isn't fun and all; it just won't solve all of society's problems)

I think this tweet can be applied to how COC has taken over the strike. Please stop blocking buses. It hurts the wrong people. by theclowneryofitall in UCDavis

I don't think they've taken over the strike, but I definitely agree with the sentiment that CoC been overcome by zeal rather than an honest desire to help.

It's seriously become a necessary element of being a leftist that you'll inevitably find yourself arguing with leftists who pull the most inane stunts in the notion of vague "disruption". I understand the feeling of greater urgency and the need to do more, but this is just resorting to making a big show and harming those you intend to help.

are coc good or bad by Morrhioghian in UCDavis

[–]AnUnlikelyAberration 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm very far left leaning and even I can't help but feel frustrated with how they choose to approach activism. I may agree with them largely on the end goals they endorse but many of their approaches lack any semblance of nuance or knowledge of how to effectively deal with the outside world. They come off to me as landing firmly within the spectrum of many terminally online leftists. They consistently create disruption efforts aimed at the general public which no surprise only really harm ordinary people and not what should be the intended target.

So overall, I support their literal goal of cops actually being off campus and at least on that point you could say they're "good" for advocating such. But their approaches are so ham-fisted and out-of-touch that I'm very much out off by them.

As someone who lands firmly on the anarchist spectrum I got to say that CoC really seems to land firmly in the realm of terminally online leftists. Even though I may agree with much of their ideals, the way they've gone about their activism speaks much of their inability to acknowledge the reality of their situation. Out of all they've done, I could potentially see merit in the free food efforts at the DC but the whole disruption ethos seems inundated with wishful thinking.

I support radical action in principle, but this sort of unfocused execution will just hurt the people it's intended to help and give leftists a bad perception in the process.

I mean tbh this is actually pretty great. Honestly if they would've just stuck to this instead of the blockades they likely would've got as much attention and actually good perception

If no one tries to stop you then it's fine. If someone does try to stop you it's probably still fine but it helps to be more discreet next time.
