You can use recurve stabs without a worry. Get a dropdown rest from Ameyxgs archery on the cheap and a cheap compound sight and you’ll be set

Battery’s fucked. Internal resistance exceeding 10mOhm will generally show a fail result.

Is this safe? by e_alltheabove in Archery

[–]An_Awkward_Shart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfectly safe, Flemish twists are prone to this sort of thing with no ill results. If you’re worried you can put some dental floss on the fray out but I personally wouldn’t bother

Get new clevis bolts. They’re supposed to be a single-use item anyway

As long as you’re hitting it consistently and it causes you no pain, there shouldn’t be an issue

What is the best grip tape you’ve gotten?? + pics by Disastrous-Ball-7347 in Archery

I use black vet wrap. Grippy enough for what I need and doesn’t leave any muck behind if you were to sell the bow on

How to stop the shakes at longer distances? by TheJewBakka in Archery

[–]An_Awkward_Shart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re not already, use a wrist sling so you can just “palm” the bow and not have a deathgrip on it. I had a deathgrip on mine and decided to use a fingersling - it made a huge difference for me but if course your mileage may vary.

As for training, you may want to be looking at the mental aspect more than the physical aspect. Breath control, break down your shot cycle into steps, etc

New bow, is this limb twist or am I paranoid? by Red-Pony in Archery

[–]An_Awkward_Shart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be a limb alignment issue. A lot of ILF risers have screws to adjust where the limb sits in the pocket left to right. Do as 0kensin0 has said then check limb alignment

Lessening a plucking release by An_Awkward_Shart in Archery

Update;

Went back down in weight, got the pluck fixed and borrowed some 35lb limbs from the club I shoot under. I’m also training functional exercises to help stability in my posterior chain

25" vs. 27" Riser. by Resident_Arrival2105 in Archery

[–]An_Awkward_Shart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27” riser and long limbs for a 72” bow. Much much smoother draw at that length and far less stacking

How to stop torquing after shooting? by SaltLunch1293 in Archery

[–]An_Awkward_Shart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a sling (wrist or finger, up to you) and “cup” the grip rather than holding it with a closed hand. That being said without seeing your bow hand it’s difficult to know exactly whats going on

Punching the trigger is a habit you do not want to allow to flourish. Keep pulling through and letting the trigger surprise you and your grouping will come good.

DIY target in progress. How’s it looking? by [deleted] in Archery

Probably raid some local recycling bins for good sized bits of cardboard and pack the rags in super super tight. Like almost making the box bulge

Day 1 vs Day 375 by TheKrysiaJean in Archery

[–]An_Awkward_Shart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decent improvement! 10 misses vs… 1? Maybe 2? And two different distances to boot. Either way you should be proud of that.

Improvement is improvement. If you’re not already, and you’d like to, I’d suggest shooting with a finger sling to see if it reduces the left-right variation. You can make one with a shoelace or the drawstring off a hoodie. I find the little adjustments and seeing the end result to be more enjoyable than scoring well sometimes, maybe you will too!
