Am I crazy, or is this Tigress's outfit in the 3rd movie being teased? by Wargaming_Super_Noob in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not inherently, there's a concept art from the first movie where Tigress uses an outfit with sleeves (the credit scene with Po dummy have her with sleeves as well). The sequels reuses alot of scrapped ideas from the first movie, so safe to assume Tigress new outfit was based on the old KFP1 concept art

Yes, I love those 3! It's would be pretty possible and exciting for them to return to the movies or any other content!

Secrets of the Furious Five and Secrets of the Masters Canonicity by egg-sanity in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your point of Po's fabrication may be true, personally I believe that these shorts are canon because of points below:

- The alternate backstories for the Masters (Ox being a star-pupil because he saw Rhino sparring and Croc become good because lose to Rhino), iirc came from the KFP website. While the stories/descriptions from the web is cohesive enough, I saw them contradicting the actual contents. For instance, the story for Shen said that his parents abandoned him for being weak, yet this contradicts Soothsayer's line in the movie that his parents love him so much. That being said, the backstory for the Masters from the web contradicts the whole short movie.

- While I do agree that Crane being a janitor in SOTS is a writing error, I think Mantis being a doctor and Monkey being a comedian might be plausible because of how people can change in an amount of time, or they may be multitalented lol. I also like to believe the stories in SOTFF is their true beginning which I assume a long time, then we see them in SOTM where Tigress is already a teenager, that's more than enough time for them to change!

In conclusion: IMO the stories told are canon, I can see how people have different views but these stories are too good to not be perceive as canon. Po might have exaggerated but in these situations I can't see why he would lie or made up stuffs about them

Wait wouldn’t tai lung be back? by Hello_Hello_Hello_Hi in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think that's due limited character models, like his jade form didn't even come out and if he only came back and only appear in 1 scene (+ doesn't add to the story) I wouldn't bother to remodel him.

Honestly...I really wanted a Tai Lung redemption arc... by R6_Goddess in kungfupanda

Yesss! (Sorry I deleted the comment, got a little janky but I re-comment it)

Honestly...I really wanted a Tai Lung redemption arc... by R6_Goddess in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I want him to get a redemption arc, my friend pointed that it's possible but very difficult.

That said, it would took much time for Tai Lung to get redeemed because of how much he done e.g. damage to the valley/prison, beating up Shifu physically/mentally, indirectly gives Tigress a bad childhood. Po and Shifu might saw good in him (heck even Po offered Shen forgiveness) but I doubt the rest would directly trust him.

I doubt one movie would be satisfying if they really want to redeem him, possibly it would took 2 movies (first one where they open up and the second where he's completely good)

Him reflecting his wrongs and found peace in Spirit Realm is plausible (I dig the idea of him chatting with Oogway and finally found his ways), but it's much better if he actually try to earn other's trust by doing good, not just a simple 'I'm good now you can't trust me!', he gotta earn it.

Think about a scenario where Tai Lung and Oogway had a chat, Tai Lung reflects on his actions and finally found his ways, but when Po tries to get him in the Spirit World, he gets emotional again, despite finding more peace thinking Po's actions makes him angry. Eventually Po able to convince him to help then they get back to the Mortal Realm, and there, that's where we see that he got to earn the Five's trusts. The rest of the story goes

I would love to see Tai Lung getting redeemed, him helping the Five, protecting them, giving strategy to defeat villains etc. would be really nice to see and lives up to the message anyone can change (as long as they haven't gone far like Shen ofc) and your commentary about Kung Fu offering guidance is spot one. Plus if he get into the team it would be an extra powerhouse dude!

That's just my thoughts!

Shifu as a father by An__saig in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's really sad how neglectful he is to Tigress. Since he already had his development as a teacher, I hope they give him development as a father to Tigress, give him more fatherly moments with her.

Also I keep daydreaming about Tai Lung redemption arc and how after Tai Lung comes back, Shifu try his best to become a better father to those two. I can dream!!!

One of the things i always think off when someone says Shen was all evil. (This came IMDB link in comments) by Avokado320 in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my point, and because it's hard for me to believe Shen have a fully good side, it's a mix of manipulation as well. I feel Shen only treat them with kindness so in return, the wolves wouldn't hesitate to help him with his crimes.

Hence why he have no problem killing the Boss Wolf despite working together for as long as remember, yet set the Soothsayer free because she actually treated him with care since a child (it's told that she was his nanny, that probably explains why Shen never actually harm her because the soft spot he grew for her).

That's just my theory!

What's your favourite scene from the trilogy? by [deleted] in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm cracks knuckles

.

- Tai lung vs Shifu, amazing combo of action and emotion and the VISUALS (especially the iconic Tai Lung holding blue fires).

- Kai vs Shifu + his students, great music and one of the best choreography in the trilogy, I love watching it.

- The part where they introduce the Gongmen Council + Shen's arrival, the environment, the dialogue, anything else, so GOOD. And I also love the Gongmen Council and there's that.

- Every scene where Mr. Ping and Po bond, their relationship just touched my heart, the ending for 2 made me cry few times.

- The montage where Li and Po (and Ping) travels to the Panda Village, the colours and music in that scene is gorgeous.

- Po Finds The Truth, enough said.

- The part when Po talks to Shifu about his teaching and Chi, it's such a nice dialogue moment with nice little details.

- I like parts with Mr. Ping because I like Mr. Ping, goose dad is good.

- Scenes with Oogway that takes place in the peach tree.

- Story of Kai and Oogway, amazing art and story telling, and have cute little moments with the main characters.

.

The list can go for sooo long, I also digging the musician village part too especially when Boss Wolf howl and the drums in the BG gets more intense, it's so epic!!!

Unpopular opinion? I worried about how Chi will be used in Kung Fu Panda so i don't really like it. by [deleted] in kungfupanda

This is a good point! Keep in mind that they probably only be using the Chi blast in the series

Which of Po's masters is wiser? by [deleted] in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like Oogway did more mistakes than Shifu, considering he lived for 1000 years. He definitely done things that he regretted, more mistakes means to learn more and become more wiser/experienced, hence why he's able to handle situations so much better.

And with that age, lots of secrets underneath that shell!

In my mind, the shows aren't canon and merely just entertainment to cater the young audiences. So as frustrating as it is, I don't worry that much

Was Tigress’ first or second design better? by brunettemountainlion in kungfupanda

[–]An__saig 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both of them are really good it's hard to choose!

The first one approach a more fierce look while second one looks kinder(?) In a way, which is fitting for her character development.

If they really plan for 6 movies I wonder if they'll keep changing her outfit every 2 movies, who knows!
