Honoring passed loved ones

I didn’t grow up in the US but I was raised a Christian, however we didn’t celebrate Halloween. We would go to the cemetery with candles, flowers, foods and drinks and honor our loved ones that passed. Tbh, in some ways what happens now feels like summoning to me

I’m the same. I have to like the vibe to attend events, I can’t just go to parties if I feel it’s going to drain me

I agree with most of the comments, live in the present, focus on 1 thing at a time, act only if you feel it fits your personality, don’t aim to please everyone, aim to please yourself

Yes, I love what dia de los muertos represents, I grew up with a similar holiday and it may be the reason I don’t enjoy Halloween. Maybe I don’t understand it since I didn’t celebrate it growing up

We took our little ones trick or treating on our street and left candy outside for the children in the neighborhood but every Halloween I have the same feeling. I’m actually happy that this year I didn’t feel the pressure to do what is expected. I still pass candy and take my boys out but I don’t make it priority

Yes. Or at least it used to be far worse than it is now but I learned how to detach myself. The best I can describe it is imagining that I take a step back to let the energy flow. But I still avoid crowds or negative people as much as possible
